Movie Review: Shazam: Holy Moley (Spoilers)

When you're done read, comment, spread the links, re-tweet and follow me on Twitter @OnDavidsBrain!, support me on Patreon and watch my Twitch Channel Every Saturday at 12:00 ET

I’ve made little to no secret that I prefer the Marvel Cinematic Universe over the DCEU. But I do recognize that there have been some good movies associated with this franchise. Wonder Woman was a landmark film in various ways, from being the first successful female superhero movie to being a milestone for female directors. Though while I haven’t seen Aquaman I have heard that its reception was at least mixed to good. On top of that with James Gunn still working on Suicide Squad 2 before going back to Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 that film could turn out to be an entertaining ride too.

Not to mention the upcoming Joaquin Phoenix Joker movie seems to be just the thing to get the taste of Jared Leto out of everyone’s mouth. Overall it seems that DC is getting back on track due to shifting the tone away from Zach Snyder’s original vision after Batman V Superman became a critically panned nightmare on top of the hodgepodge mess that was Justice League after he understandably left the project after a horrible family tragedy and directing duties were left to Joss Whedon. Now let me be clear, what happened to Mr Snyder and his family was indeed a horrible, terrible tragedy and I’m not saying that the circumstances behind his departure were in anyway a good thing. But the fact is that no matter how one feels about his situation before or after said tragedy there is an undeniable shift in quality for the DCEU after he left the project.

But that could just as easily be attributed to DC overall getting out of its edge-lord, dark and gritty 90’s relapse that was the New 52. Once the New 52 launched there was a general sense of everything attached to the DC comics line trying to be darker, more bleak and wanting to be taken seriously. But really it just came off as DC repeatedly screaming this at the top of their lungs.

But after the Event Comic Convergence and the aforementioned departure of Mr Snyder DC seems to be going for a much more optimistic depiction of their superhero line. Which finally brings us to the topic at hand, the cinematic debut of Billy Batson, aka Captain Marvel aka Captain Thunder aka Shazam, Earth’s mightiest mortal. Yeah, copyright is more then a tad silly. But before I give my thoughts here’s Linkara with how Billy originally came to be from all the way back in the Golden Age.

The differences here is that Billy wasn’t out on the streets, his uncle is not only removed from this continuity but also there was no fortune he screwed Billy out of and as for Dr Sivana, well I'll get into the changes made to him later. Now the Billy in this movie isn’t exactly the big Red Boy-scout that he was pre New-52 nor is he the New-52 annoying brat with a chip on his shoulder the size of the rock of eternity. No he’s more like how you’d expect a kid with a rough background and a heart of gold to act if he got superpowers. This incarnation starts out not with Billy but the aforementioned Sivana as a young boy being tested by the wizard Shazam (played by Djimon Hounsou) to see if he’s worthy of becoming the successor. However the young Sivana is tempted by the seven deadly sins and is found not worthy, leaving a young Sivana wanting revenge.

Cut to present day where we find Billy (played by Asher Angel) trying to find his mother but is instead coming up with nothing but more paragraphs on his juvie sheet. He’s finally taken in by a family that’s willing to put up with him where he meets Freddy Freeman (played by Jack Dylan Grazer) who’s a fanboy of the new heroes popping up including Superman and Batman. After Billy saves Fred at school from two brats that were beating the ever-loving tar out of him he boards the subway train and is taken to Shazam who bequeathes him his powers. Not because he’s worthy but after an adult Sivana (played by Mark Strong) finds his way back, frees the seven sins to intact his revenge and kicks the old mans ass, he basically ran out of options. So now Billy can turn into an adult with the skills of several mythical figures (played by Zachary Levi) which he can switch between at will, hijinks ensue.

If I had to make a comparison for this film it would like “Big” with superpowers. But unlike Toqger which failed in this concept almost entirely this movie seems to zig where Toqger zagged. First in that the main lead isn't an insufferable idiot that the world bends over backwards to make right when everything says he should be wrong and that when he screws up he gets called out on it. Second is that when that Billy matures as the story progresses its because of natural character development and not that the audience got sick of the leads acting like five years olds as opposed to their actual ages. Third is that unlike Zett who was forced into his position as the ultimate villain because the writer's negative view of the entire concept of rebellion; Sivana's actions are all of his own accord and through his own actions we can clearly see why he was unworthy.

Speaking of Sivana it's time for me to get off the Toqger hate train again to talk about how he was portrayed. Apparently during the production of this movie the main villain was supposed to be Black Atom played by Dwayne Johnson. While that was put on the shelf for now there seems to be some influence of that original draft with Sivana. Normally Sivana is a mad scientist (hell he's the archetype for the trope as far as I know) but here; he has powers on par with the Big Red Cheese. I'm not saying that's a problem I just felt it a bit weird and eventually redundant since if they're going ahead with Black Adam why would they do this type of villain again?

I mean granted here Sivana is powered by the seven sins and we already have foreshadowing of Black Adam when Shazam gives the speech to Billy but they've already done the "dark mirror" villain with Sivana here so why do it again with Black Adam? But other then that Sivana was just fine in this movie, taking a bit too much of a queue from the MCU villain handbook but he does get more backstory and screen time than most of them so it evens out. The supporting characters were decent as well, aka Billy's foster family. They get an equal amount of screen time and the acting is on point, especially for the Billy's new siblings. Save for Mary, maybe it was just me but Grace Fulton's acting seemed to be a bit wooden.

Not terrible or anything but it felt like she needed a few more takes to get her delivery down. Also I felt that Eugene and Pedro could have used a bit more screen time but hey that's what sequels are for. Also, the final fight scene, I knew it was coming after the kids were introduced but not that soon and not as awesome as it was, bravo. Speaking of, that post credit scene, I can't wait to see not only how they pull that off but make us take something like that seriously. But all in all Shazam is another good sign that DC's movies are recovering after four controversial wastes of time, not as good as Wonder Woman but hey, it's a good start.

Shazam is owned by New Line Cinema, DC Films, The Safran Company, and Mad Ghost Productions, based off of the character created by Bill Parker and C.C Beck.
The Lonely Island is owned by Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone.

Personal Post: Top 15 favorite Episodes of AT4W Part 2: The best of the wha?

Please be sure to read, comment, spread the links, re-tweet and follow me on Twitter @OnDavidsBrain! and support me on Patreon.

For those who missed part 1 here you are and now off we go.

#8 Justice League Cry for Justice # 5, 6 and 7: Ah Cry for Justice, the first review of Linkaras where I saw pure, genuine rage. Now I know he exploded when he talked about the infamous moment in One More Day during his Top 15 comics he'd never review video. (Though he actually did review entries from that list and I'm still waiting for when he talks about Sonichu pulling his biggest boner about Wendy's haunted vagina. This horrible mental image has been brought to you by Nextwave now with an army of tap-dancing hedgehogs.) But yeah when he got to the part where Leanne was killed, I honestly felt uncomfortable when he called the comic exploitive, badly written trash.

However hindsight is funny, because thanks to Convergence we see that Leanne was somehow brought back to live for Pre New 52 Roy and he's clearly no longer listening to her zombie ghost telling him to do China Cat. So while Cry for Justice is now completely null and void it's still an aggravating little mini series that James Robinson would wish to completely forget ever happened. So all we're left with is a mini series with beautiful artwork (for the most part) being wasted on Prometheus walking through a bunch of dumbass versions of heroes like he was a villain in a Shouji Yonamura Kamen Rider Movie. Actually this really is like Kamen Rider Taisen, our supposed heroes are idiots, a group of them commit horrible and unethical acts they would never do, the villains plan makes no sense but just kicks their asses by sneezing on them, and a lot of potential is squandered. Though speaking of Roy Harper, when will Linkara finally review "Fall of Green Arrow"?

#7 Mightily Murdered Power Ringers #1: Right on the heels of NBComics came something that gave me a certain embarrassing sense of laughter that I would only rediscover later when I saw Akibaranger, specifically a certain episode during season 2.
Good lord not even Rob Liefeld would go that far!!!
Yeah I'm a bit of a fan of Power Rangers and man this comic was just crazy. I'm not going to explain exactly why because this is one of those episodes that you need to go in blind for. But it's Linkara's reactions to the jokes that really get you rolling. But remember if you are a fan of Power Rangers, it's just a joke and even the creator himself admitted that he was basically phoning this comic in, so yeah MST3K rules for this one.

#6 Atomic Robo vol 3: One of the Patreon requested reviews and this was a good one. This episode is what inspired me to purchase the Everything Explodes Collection and I've never looked back. Atomic Robo is everything comics should be, likable characters, funny clever dialogue and pure high concept goodness. I mean the first volume has Robo fighting against Giant Ants, Nazi AT-ST Walkers and even some sad moments, my personal favorite scene so far in Atomic Robo is the last page from Issue 1 where a reporter is asking Robo what he considers the hardest part of his life, his response. “The hardest part is that I’m 83 years old. I do a great Jack Benny, but no one really gets it anymore.” If you haven't picked up this series yet, do so, you will not regret it, also be sure to pick up the three collections since it'll save you money and space and well, we all like that don't we?

#5 Warrior #1
Yes I know that this isn't the cover for the issue he reviewed I just had to show it. I mean yeah, The Ultimate Warrior is so powerful he can even kill Captian America and what looks like Spawn by his right leg if I'm seeing it right, yeah I'm sure Warrior had the rights to use their likeness' on the cover, good job meathead. Thought at least the artwork on this cover looks better then the main book, but not by much.
From here these episodes may cause some people to have fits of uncontrollable laughter due to the amount of pure, unfiltered bullshit that is seeping from your screen, be fore warned. Now Warrior #1, this was the first episode of AT4W that caused me to laugh so hard I started crying. This also taught me many things such as the ancient art of Destrucity, that the Ultimate Warrior was completely bat screech insane and showed me some of the worst examples of 90's artwork and some of the most disjointed, nonsensical and incoherent writing I've ever seen outside of a padded cell of a mental institution, nicely accented with the public domain Ren & Stimpy music to really highlight the madness. Speaking of the artwork let me just say this,
when you're making these guys look like they have a more realistic body structure, go back to art school immediately!!!
Sometimes when writing a review jokes just come naturally when given the right material, and by god does this deliver, now to get foked; juice up on jetjack and jack a track through the list.

#4 DeadPool Bi Annual #1: What else can I say about Brute Force that hasn't been said? When I heard this comic was coming I picked it up and love it. I mean we have Brute Force, one of the best ideas that never came to fruition and Deadpool one of the most powerful and popular characters in the Marvel universe, put these together and we have pure joy. Now as far as I know Brute Force hasn't shown up since the comic but I'm sure that Marvel is just waiting for the right time. I also like this episode since this is most likely the only time we'll ever see Linkara review something involving Deadpool. Though we may see him again if Linkara decides to review "Deadpool kills the Marvel universe" or "Wade Wilsons War" but only time will tell. (Unless it already happened when you read this; in which case I retract my claim.) Now to wait until Deadpool Bi Annual #2 where he encounters Battle Fever J.

#3 All Star Batman and Robin #8: Now who didn't predict that ASBAR would be on this list? The only problem is which issue to choose, do I go with the one where Crazy Steve called Dick Greyson Age 12 retarded? Or perhaps the issue where we're introduced to the Justice Nutjobs and Bonkers Betty; who has murderous rage against any living being who committed the unspeakable crime of being born with a Y chromosome who can only be quelled out of her rampage by SuperDAMN sticking his tongue down her throat? Maybe the issue where Dick Greyson age 12 nearly kills Jocko Boy with a Battle Axe?

Perhaps the issue where Steve and Dick Greyson Age 12 try to defeat Green Lantern by wearing Yellow Face? Nope I decided to go with the issue were Frank Millar screwed up the Joker, the one Batman villain that is nearly impossible to screw up. Yet he did, he made the Joker unfunny, had him say he wasn't funny and only kills people out of some demented sense of love. Yet as bad as the Joker was here Steve was just as bad, rambling in his own head about how much of a fucking retard fag Hal Jordon is.
No really this is from the actual book, would you really put it past Frank Millar that he wouldn't make Steve call Green Lantern something that immature and offensive? You know, the same guy who called Wonder Woman the "wicked witch of Lesbos Island"? And repeatedly used the phrase "that's totally queer"?
He also plans to steal the Green Lantern ring and nearly kills Jocko Boy by handcuffing him and tossing him into Gotham Bay while he's still stoned from the snake venom that Steve injected him with earlier. But my personal favorite is where Linkara deconstructs pretty much how Frank Millar's writing has devolved and how all of his heroes are representations of his fascist ideas. Basically Frank is writing all of his heroes like they were Light Yagami only with super powers and doesn't give a shit about discretion or subtlety. Oh and the cherry on top, issue 8 is where we finally see Dick Greyson age 12 become Robin, great job for a series called All Star Batman & Robin to only have half of the title characters until issue 8!

As for Steve it's always been my head cannon that in this universe after Batman Year One (remember Miller says that this story is cannon with Batman Year One and TDKR; sure Franky sure I'll play along) Marik from Yu-gi-oh abridged somehow managed to trick Bruce Wayne into legally changing his name to Steve and took control of his mind. But then Melvin his evil imaginary friend took over again and now he's the puppet master behind the lunatic who seems to get hard while beating the shit out of cops, setting people on fire, acting like a petulant child when someone doesn't think their naming conventions are sound, calls traumatized children retarded, forces said child to eat cave rats in his dark damp cave filled with various weapons and wants to take over the world by stealing Green Lanterns ring. Yeah that sounds about right.

#2 Gokaiger eps 1-5

Now who didn't see this coming? Call me bias but hey Gokaiger was my very first Super Sentai series and it's a damn good one, it's basically my equivalent of the Technus Imperative; it showcased the previous Sentai teams which in turn inspired me to check out their series to see how they developed as heroes, the villains they fought and the struggles the 34 previous teams overcame to show how they passed that on to the Gokaigers. I knew that he was going to say that Gokaiger is far better then Power Rangers Megaforce, but then again there are very few worse pieces of media that are worse then Megaforce. I was expecting pretty much what he gave us in the Zyuranger review, he checks out a few episodes, makes some jokes and off we go and I got exactly what I expected. I know that at the end of the day Power Rangers always will take priority with him and I'm totally cool with that, but when he has to do reviews of certain Sentai series due to Patreon I'm not going to start complaining either, as long as we get something entertaining who really cares?

Here are the runners up, in no particular order.

Doom 2099

Sounds like a great setting for a story and I may check it out, mostly because I want to see if 2099 Doom is who he says he is. Though personally Doom just seems like a pretty interesting character and now that he's in the future and no longer having to deal with Reed Richards the worlds smartest dumbass he can just go nuts.

Bill and Ted's Excellent Comic

Who doesn't love the exploits of Bill S Preston Esq and Ted Theodore Logan? This gave us Medieval Shadows who escaped the midnight channel trying to kill our most Sterling Rockers and also the drinking buddy of Mr Computer, The Time Thumb. Still can't wait when Linkara decides to review more of the mini series, be more interesting and enjoyable then Sci-Spy that's for sure.

Us 1 #5

The most recent of these reviews I admit, but you really can't top an Alien who speaks in CB Radio slang. Though I wouldn't be surprised if later US fights against a robot trucker or he himself becomes a full fledged cyborg.

Detective Comics #38

Speaking of murderous incarnations of Batman and Robin we have how Dick Greyson Age 12 became the Boy Wonder. America's funniest circus accidents, kicking Gangsters off of construction sites and a mobster who smokes like a chimney. Yeah the golden age can get kind of blood thirsty.

Raver #1

It's like if a Dingo Pictures movie was given HK subtitles, they're saying words but we sure as hell can't understand what they're talking about. The dialogue is random, the setting is unexplained and I'm betting Walter Koenig was writing this when he was looking for the Nuclear Wessels and the radiation got to him.

Comic Book Quickies #1

A fine first episode of this series of reviews that give me a good weapon against overzealous Star Wars fans. If someone tries to discredit my Pop Culture lover card because I don't care about Star Wars all I have to do is tell them exactly why Jedi aren't allowed to fall in love. And since Disney chucked out the AU which apparently featured a part where Luke revoked that rule when he rebuilt the order this is technically still cannon. So HA!

Superman's Christmas Adventure

Golden Age Superman spent his Christmas protecting Santa from Dr Grouch and Mr Meany's attempts to destroy Christmas because they had bad Christmas' when they were kids. Wha? Also Elves with Cattle prods.

Captain Electron

An Outdated comic from a shut down scummy institute that gave us the unholy demon known only as Mr Computer. Who I am certain is Kyubey and Mr Popo's IT guy.

Captain Tax Time

The premise is insane and is just one of those comics that is just a good old fashioned joke gold mine; I mean if you can't make a joke out of a finance minister literally turning into a demon when he tries to push a new tax and is stopped by a dude with a sock on his head and his cyborg ninja sidekick then you need to go back to watching some real comedies.

Superman Meets the Quik Bunny

The Quick Bunny is apparently The Master who's going through a reallllly bad regeneration so he's tricked some kids to help him make a new Tardas. And as a sign of good will (as well as to maintain a good cover) he decides to help his child laborers hinder I mean help Superman stop the Weather Wizard.

Spider-Man Power and Responsibility

The very start of the clone saga where Linkara gave us a more detailed explanation of what lead up to the Clone Saga, though for a far more in depth account look up the "Life Of Reilly" essay he mentioned once or twice. Though we were also introduced to the American Narutaki himself, Judas Traveler, who was the focus instead of the drama of Spiderman coming face to face with his clone who was long thought to be dead since the 70's on top of all the recent crap in his life. Because why focus on character conflict when we can have a dumbass psychologist, his random stooges and his contradictory experiments?

Marvel Team up #74

Spider Man teaming up with the second original cast of NBC'S Saturday Night, need I say more?

Superman #701

I would have put this on the list proper but the list is over there and over there has to learn how to stand on its own.

Top 15 Worst Moments of Countdown

The first time Linkara tried to cover 50 or so issues in the span of 2 weeks, and every issue is worse then the last. Bob the Monitor and his band of morons screwing up the multiverse faster then Saya and the Luteces on holiday, Monarch trying to rise an army to conquer the multiverse, Supermangina Prime comes back, kills an entire world and tortures Mr Mxyzptlk till he pukes. But to top it all off Darksied just plays with his action figures doing jack all. Countdown, a series so bad that not even Reiji and Xiaomu, Decade, Booster Gold and every version of The Doctor combined couldn't fix the mess left in its wake.

Southland Tales

Would have made it on the list but I'm not counting movie reviews, believe me I wanted to because the plot is some of the most batshit insane nonsense unleashed on the mass public. But apparently the comic book "prequel" was even more insane and pretentious. And since The Rock stared in it this is another piece of evidence in my theory that if your movie involves a Wrestler then 9 times out of 10; it's going to suck. But it doesn't even come close to sucking as hard as the topic of the #1 episode of Atop the 4th Wall.

#1 Marville #4

Of all the comics, of all the mini series he's covered on this show; nothing so far has made me laugh my ass off then when we traveled into the magical land of Marville. But the question dawned on me, which issue is the most hilarious of the bunch?  The first two issues were already insane as a bad parody of the comic book industry with issue 1 having Ted Turner karate chopping a meteor then creating a time machine out of PS1 parts. Issue 2 had Rush Limbaugh pacifying Iron Man, Black Panther and Batman with his magical golden megaphone and Spike Lee turning out to be the Kingpin. But it was issue 3 where the drugs really started to set in and we saw the unholy madness of Bill Jemas.

For some ungodly reason known only to Bill he took Marville and changed it from a bad parody comic to his own personal Soap Box where he could proclaim how little he knew about science, history and religion. Issue 3 told us about how we should all be angry about the trillions of molecules that died to form us. But then we get to issue 4 where the madness flows like wine down Linkaras mouth after reading these fucking comics. First Al, Lucy, Mickey and Jack grab some cells from the water, set the time machine to "fast forward" until the cells evolved into a talking Jewish Duckbill named Snorts who shows them his tribe who he has never meet since, you know he was born in the time machine. Al is surprised to learn that the dinosaurs will be killed off by an asteroid, and they try to pull the "Ape does not kill ape" crap.

Yeah guess what? Animals kill members of their own species all the time!!! Linkara gives some examples and the comments give some more but here's a nugget of wisdom for free. You know how waterfowls reproduce? Rape, this article shows why it is that waterfowls (specifically ducks) rape to reproduce.

This even highlights a case where a female duck was being chased and nearly forced into copulation with 39 male ducks. I could go on about how this comic is full of it and how Bill should probably be bouncing around in a padded cell instead of starting his own indie publisher, but yeah on to why I love this episode. Linkaras reactions to the madness on display was pure gold, there is just so much to make fun of and probably more he skipped so as not to make each review as long as Peter Jackson's Tolkien movies uncut with all of the behind the scenes commentary but what we were shown was more then enough. The cherry on top was the ending where he just screamed Whyyyyyyyy then crawled into a bottle of absinthe until he woke up next to the Waco kid in Sherif Bart's jail cell.

Thus my top 15 favorite episodes of AT4W, do you agree with my list? If not then leave your own list of your favorite episodes in the comment section and be sure to congratulate Lewis for 400 episodes and wish him 400 more.

Movie Review: Back To the Future Part 3: No George, I am your Son!

Please be sure to read, comment, spread the links, re-tweet and follow me on Twitter @OnDavidsBrain! and support me on Patreon.

Marty tries to get George and Loraine together during lunch and in the process finds that George has aspirations of writing sci-fi and proves that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree when George has the exact same words of doubt and hesitation towards his writing as Marty does about his music. George points out that maybe Biff would be a better match as he points out Biff accosting her which of course sets Marty off to stop it, the two are about to fight but when Biff sees Strickland he backs off. George finally breaks down after Marty's stalked him enough and tells him that he's not going to the dance and that there's nothing on this planet that's going to get him to change his mind. So after some shenanigans involving the Hazmat suit, Van Halen and some good old fashioned breaking and entering George is all on board for asking Marty's help in getting Loraine to go to the dance with him.

Though Marty suggests leaving out the part that George has to take her or else Darth Vader from the Planet Vulcan will melt his brains if he doesn't take her. Girls don't typically go for guys that say stuff like that.

So George tries but is once again stopped by Biff. Marty trips Biff which gets his attention. After Marty gets him with the old "Look over there" trick and decks him Marty ends up getting chased around the town square by Biff and his goons in their car while Marty leads them on a makeshift Skateboard. The chase ends not only with him unfortunately stoking the flames of love for Loraine for him but also causes Biff to crash his car into a Manure truck.

Back at the lab Doc is going over the footage of the Test and discovers the part where Future Doc notices the Libyans. But the footage cuts off before he can see what happened, Marty tries to tell him what happened but Doc is insistent that he not learn what happens since nobody should have access to future knowledge or know too much about their own destiny and that if one knows too much about their own future they could endanger their own existence just as Marty has.

Besides future knowledge can lead anyone to disaster whether their intentions are good or not if it's mishandled. Especially if put in the hands of a complete and utter tool written by people who wouldn't know the first thing about competent storytelling even if they got step by step instructions from Joseph Campbell himself much-less time travel.
Anyway Doc shows Marty the plan for the 12th. He'll set up some electrical cable at the top of the clock tower and when the lighting strikes the current will run down the cable which is run between two street lamp posts. Before hand Marty will already be driving down the street at 88 MPH and when the lightning hits Marty will already be driving underneath the cables, the lightning will run down the cable and down a metal hook which is connected directly into the Flux Capacitor and send him back to 1985. After the less then confidence building demonstration Doc asks how Marty's progressing with setting up his parents. He gets his answer when Loraine shows up and asks Marty to the Enchantment under the sea dance, that answer being "a work in progress".

Marty then runs a plan by George later telling him how he'll help him sweep Loraine off her feet. She wants a man who will stand up for himself and his girl so they just have to make him look like well anyone other then George McFly. The plan goes as thus; Marty will stage a rape, George will show up and knock his ass out and then she'll be putty in his hands and by god does this make me feel unclean as I type this. Though probably not as much as Marty does thinking this plan I mean this is his FUTURE MOTHER for gods sake! George is scared as hell but Marty tells him to have confidence and that if you put your mind to it you can accomplish anything.

The night of the Dance/Lightning storm Doc is finishing setting up the experiment and is nervous about the weather and if the lighting really will happen. Marty tries to tell Doc about the Future but he again shuts him down saying that what's going to happen will happen and that future knowledge could backfire no matter the intention. So Marty decides to write Doc a letter detailing his death and warns him to take whatever precautions to prevent it with the words "Do not open until 1985" on the outside of the envelope and he slips the letter into Doc's jacket pocket once he's distracted. Later at the Dance the Band Marvin Berry and the Star-lighters are playing, George is there as the wall flower and Marty and Loraine are pulling up to the big shindig.

Marty asks if they can park and Loraine is all for it. Like she's never parked before, so yeah finding out your teenage mother slept around in high school and used to drink like a camel and smoke like a chimney on top of that, this has not been a good week for Marty McFly. Loraine has had enough of Marty's pussy footing around and starts making out with him.
But the Big Z is going to hold out on that since Loraine stops half way saying that it feels wrong, like when she kisses him, it's like kissing her brother. Before things can calm down Marty hears knocking on the car door and opens it thinking it's George but nope it's Biff and his goons piss ass drunk and looking for payback. Biff spots Loraine in the car and tells his goons to take care of Marty while he has his way with Loraine. The three lock Marty in a near by trunk, which happens to belong to the band. They chase the goons off and when Marvin asks for the keys from a band-mate Marty unfortunately says that the keys are in the trunk with him.

George heads down to the car and on queue sees the car shaking and opens it expecting to see Marty but finds Biff trying to rape Loraine. Biff tells George to walk away but George tells him to leave her alone. Biff retaliates by grabbing George's arm and tries to break it. Meanwhile Marty gets free but Marvin slices his hand in the process of trying to pick the lock of the trunk. Loraine tries to stop Biff but is knocked down; as Biff laughs George focuses all of his anger, all of his courage and knocks Biff on his ass with one punch.
"Wait he didn't blow up from that? Maybe you should just keep it that way, trust me.".
With Biff out cold George asks if Loraine is okay; she nods and the two walk off together to the gym. However the picture of his siblings still shows them fading away and so Marty runs off to find out what went wrong. Meanwhile Doc finishes setting up the experiment but notices that it's 9:30 and the storm is brewing. Marty heads to the band which can't play since Marvin sliced his hand unless of course they can find a new guitar player. Thanks Plot Convenience Fairy! The band starts to play "Earth Angel" when Marty sees George being pushed aside by some guy who tries to dance with Loraine.

Marty then collapses in pain as he starts to become transparent and collapses seeing that he's starting to fade in the picture. With his last breath he silently calls out to George who then shoves the bully to the ground and then gives Loraine a deep passionate kiss. With that act their future together is set bringing Marty back before he faded away completely. He then checks the photo and sees that his brother and sister are restored as well, and with that his future is saved.

Marty tries to leave but can't pass up the chance to show off his guitar skills I mean it's not like he's on a time crunch or anything right? SCHMUCK! So he sticks around to do a cover of "Johnny B Goode" which goes over so well with the crowd Marvin calls his cousin Chuck to take a listen. However Marty goes overboard with a rock-out and leaves the audience more then a bit flummoxed. So he leaves after seeing George and Loraine off with a bit of advice to go easy on their son after he accidentally sets fire to the living room rug.

Marty barely manages to make it back to the clock tower in time to catch the lightning. He tells Doc that he was impressed by George since he never stood up to Biff before in his life. Doc ignores it and sets the destination time for the exact time Marty left 1985 and gives him the instructions to drive down to the starting line and the punch it when the alarm clock goes off and gives his goodbyes. However he finds the letter Marty left in his coat pocket and tears it up rejecting the responsibility. However Karma strikes Marty can tell him what happens as the cable disconnects from the top of the tower.

They manage to get the cable up but Marty has only 4 minutes left so he has no choice but to head to the starting position, Marty realizes he has a Time Machine and changes the Time Circuits to 10 minutes before he left 1985 which should give him enough time to get to the mall and warn Doc. Long story short he makes it back to 1985 and runs back to the Lone Pine mall but is too late to save Doc, after this universes Marty goes back to 1955 and the Libyans are knocked out Marty rushes over to Docs body. However Doc was wearing a Bulletproof vest, it turns out he taped the letter back together and found out what happened. Marty asks what happened to all the "I must not know too much about my own future" crap, and Doc figured "what the hell".

Doc drives Marty back home and tells him he's going ahead 30 years into the future. He gives his goodbyes and drives off. Marty then crashes on his bed and thinks it was all a dream. He wakes up and finds that his house and his family have completely changed, Linda has several boyfriends, Dave is working at an office which requires him to wear a suit, George is a successful sci-fi novelist and Loraine is thin, sober and happy as hell. And thanks to George standing up to Biff, he's now the McFlys personal grease monkey and completely subservient to George.

On top of that in this timeline Marty also has,

just as Marty's about to take Jennifer for a ride Doc shows up with he DeLorean in a panic and starts throwing garbage into a device called Mr Fusion saying that Marty and Jen have to come with him since something has to be done about their kids. So our movie ends with Doc turning on the DeLorean's hover conversion and flying off to the future. Now I'll give my thoughts on the movies when I finish reviewing Part 3. That is if I can get them out in time, time I've got all the time in the world I'm reviewing something with a Time Machine. Okay, 20 days outta do it. Look forward to Part 2, eventually.

Tokusatsu review: Kamen Rider Drive episode 1: Start your Engines!

Please be sure to read, comment, spread the links, re-tweet and follow me on Twitter @OnDavidsBrain! and support me on Patreon.
Alright, my first review of the first episode of a brand new Kamen Rider series. Now this show, Kamen Rider Drive has quite a bit to live up too. Not only is this the show that allows the Heisei era of Kamen Rider to surpass the Shōwa era, but it is the 16th series of said era; which is following Gaim. The series that many fans of the Toku genre claim to not only be the best written series since Kamen Rider Black; but the best of the Heisei era in general. No pressure right?

Oh suck it up. We open on a rainy night as the narration tells us about how the end of the world can occur in the blink of an eye. When all of a sudden the world starts to slow down as monsters appear out of nowhere. By slow down I mean, it's almost as if the world is lagging, you could still talk but your body can't keep up. The monsters on the other hand can move through the lag with no problem, going at normal speed.
I'm siiiiiiinging in the raiiiiin, just siiiiinging in the raiiiin.
These are the monsters of the series, the Roidmudes. There are three basic models of these guys. The Spider Roidmudes, the Bat Roidmudes and the Cobra Roidmudes. Why those three animals? As an homage to the first three monsters from the original series, Spider Man, Bat Man and Cobra Man. As monsters are want to do they start killing as many people as they can, who have no way to defend themselves, especially since they can barely move. No joke, these things are not playing around, throwing fireballs at shops filled with people, throwing giant ceramic bowling pins ( from a nearby bowling alley) at large, immovable crowds and throwing giant bowling balls, (again from a display from a nearby bowling alley) at buildings and just killing as many people as they can. With enough explosions to make Michael Bay grin like the Joker.
Yes, the Global Freeze which is why it's mostly focused around Japan and the easternmost parts of China judging by this shot, okay.
We then cut to a fight where the Narrator says that that was the day that his time stopped. We see some Detectives fighting some criminals near the docks or an industrial area who I assume are gun runners since we see them firing handguns and shotguns at the Detectives. I say they're gunrunners because Japan's gun control laws are actually worth a shit. The weapons law begins by stating that "No-one shall possess a fire-arm or fire-arms or a sword or swords", and very few exceptions are allowed. However, citizens are permitted to possess firearms for hunting and sport shooting, but only after submitting to a lengthy licensing procedure. And this gun registration and licensing is strict as hell. Of course law officials are allowed to carry firearms so there's that. Anyway the two detectives seem to be holding their own when they start to glitch out. One of the detectives calls out for his partner Hayase as he provides covering fire, however due to the lag he misses and hits a nearby tank of flammable substances which of course explodes sending Hayase falling down a floor. The cop tries to run to Hayase but Hayase gets crushed by some over hanging girders and the detective couldn't make it in time due to the lag.
Red: Do ya think we should help? Green: After they made all those "Need for Speed" movies? I say we get some Marshmallows. Purple: But I want Hotdogs. Red & Green: Shut up!
We cut to what looks like some Hot Wheels over looking the destruction of the city. They summon a small road so they can attack the Roidmudes. These little boogers are actually pretty strong, the red one can turn into a fireball, the green one can cover itself in razor sharp spikes that can drill right through a Roidmudes torso, and the Purple one can create clones of itself which throw energy Shurikens. The three destroyed Roidmudes turn into giant floating numbers who then retreat. We then cut to what looks like Drive as we cut to our opening sequence. We then cut to half a year later as we see our hero driving a car that looks so sleek it would make Jeremy Clarkson envious.
Some say that he once made a exact scale replica of the Tokyo tower in five minutes, using only chopsticks. Others say that he was once known as a Superhero known as Kamen Rider Drive, all we do know is; he's called The Stig.
Now I have some concerns right away about this series. See, there's this little thing about Japan and particularly it's media that rubs me the wrong way. (Aside from fan service in some anime series, but that's a discussion for another time.) See, some Japanese writers typically love to depict their law enforcement officers in one of three ways, corrupt, incompetent or dogshit useless, usually all three. And from what little we've seen so far of this series and from the opening it looks like it will focus on a cop and members of the MPD to fill out the side-cast. Now this rubs me the wrong way because, its not the best thing in the world to insult the people who are trying to keep your city safe from thieves, rapists, arsonists and murderers, just saying. Now of course I'm not some naive putz that thinks that everyone who puts on a badge is doing it for all the right reasons.
Hell this SOB is one of my favorite examples of that.
The point is, I don't make fun of cops. And for any viewers of mine that does think this way about the majority of cops, go ahead, insult an officer, spit in their face while you're at it, see what happens. Especially when someone breaks into your house and starts killing your family right in front of you, I double dog dare you! My bet is that once they find out your name the phone line might suddenly be disconnected. To balance my fears we did have previous Kamen Riders who were involved in Law-enforcement, G3 and Accel immediately spring to mind. (I don't count W since he's a PI, not a uniformed officer.) Hell the majority of the Metal Heroes are law-enforcement officers, the Space Sheriffs, Winspector, Jiban and Janperson spring to mind. And do I even need to remind you of the Dekarangers A.K.A Power Rangers S.P.D? Maybe this won't be so bad, but just to be sure I'll look for the appropriate clips. Shinnosuke goes on to explain that after the Global Freeze people are paranoid and have special apps to report to the Police if they feel or see the glitching which they call "The Heaviness". Called so due to the lag causing feeling of heaviness on every-point on a humans body which limits their movement.
Well, at least it's not Ebola!
After that no doubt dated and offensive joke we cut to Shinnosuke lazing about on the grass.
Our hero everyone, a frigging laid back sloth.
I think I may have spoke too soon. Thankfully some else on the force has the same attitude that I have about Shinnosuke's lazing about.
The voice of reason on the show, ladies and gentlemen.
Kiriko handcuffs the putz, Shinnosuke tries to run away but Kiriko throws her shoe at his head.
She then shows him how she knew where he was.
She's apparently less his partner and more of his babysitter.
What kills me is the little manga drawings of Shinnosuke in her notes about his schedule. Who drew those? Honestly? And like his babysitter, she drags Shinnosuke back to their precinct the Kuruma Department of Motor-vehicles to do his actual work. Now for us to get established here.

a.a.k.a the crank case room.
This is our team briefing room and general conference area. Now we have a good look time to meet the side cast.
Oh my god scary face!
Aside from having a smile that will haunt my nightmares, Jun here is also a goofy mook who obsesses over his fortune telling lucky colors.
You can just tell this guy was bully chow as a kid.
Kyuu is mostly there to do my job, surf around the net looking for articles and clues on chat rooms, social networks and whatnot that may give information to the SCD and their current cases.
Hello, Nurse.
Rinna is their R&D department who creates various devices to help with Heaviness related cases, who acts like she's a few tacos short of a fiesta. Basically think of her as a live action Zoë Hange from Attack on Titan and you'll get the picture. Now that basic introductions are out of the way Jun explains that they're finally getting put on a real case. Apparently there have been several attempted murders in the last few weeks in a specific area that has been reporting several occurrences of the Heaviness. However apparently someone named Otta will be their go-between, Shinnosuke isn't too thrilled by this since apparently if Otta is their go-between, more people are going to give the SCD the cold shoulder then they do now. Shinnosuke sits in his car and thinks to himself, flashing back to when Hayase was killed.
Apparently Shinnosuke has been driving around in a remodeled KIT from Night Rider
No it's not KIT but close enough, Shinnosuke does know the voice though he doesn't know whose it is. Apparently NOTKIT here was the one who arranged Shinnosuke to be transferred to SCD for easy deployment and was the one who gave him the car. Shinnosuke tells him that he should have picked someone else since he's a lazy fool, no kidding. But at least he's aware of his problem. NOTKIT says that's that he's a superman and that he's just forgotten how to "start his engine" as he puts it. We cut to a skate-park/ basketball court where the Heaviness is occurring. A couple check their Heaviness detection app and confirms it, where a man in a green hood shows up. Shinnosuke checks the car to find the source of the voice and finds it, A belt attached to the dash board of the car. The belt then attaches himself to Shinnosuke.
Dude, stop being so happy that you're near his crotch, you've just met and he might not swing that way!
Kiriko shows up and tells Shinnosuke that there's been another attempted murder attempt. She's already transferred the coordinates to the Car's GPS. The Belt knowing that Shinnosuke doesn't have two brain cells to rub together, decides to drive the car their remotely and straps Shinnosuke to his seat. We cut to the skate-park where we meet the last of our supporting cast.
Does Shinnosuke listen to Rock and Roll? He does?! Arrest him, take his badge and tar and feather him!
We then get a good example of why the SCD team isn't taken seriously.
What? Don't your cops show up at crime scenes wearing props that would have been laughed off the set of Clones of Bruce Lee?
You have some weird cops then. Pft. Otta clearly as embarrassed as I am asks what is up with the Dr Seuss gizmos. Shinnosuke says that they're apparently supposed to detect gravity surge particles. Shinnosuke asks Otta what happened to the corpse, Otta says that he isn't dead but that there have been four other victims with the same condition since last week. Otta also says something so stupid that I'm not even going to comment on it.
Krusty if you don't mind?
And then the smug prick just walks off. You see what I mean about Japan portraying their police officers as incompetent assholes? Shinnosuke then notices something near one of the Evidence markers.
Hang on, I'm pretty sure you don't tamper with a crime scene. Call me crazy.
Judge Doom would not be happy let me tell you. The makeshift P.K.E meter goes off with the belt telling Shinnosuke that the culprit might be near and sure enough the world starts lagging again. Shinnosuke sees the man with the green hood from before and notices that he's walking through the Heaviness just fine. He then transforms into a Roidmude.
029? Is that his assembly number or something?
He then picks up Shinnosuke, commenting on how lively he is. The belt then summons what he calls "Shift Cars" which turn out to be the Hot Wheels from before. They manage to hold him off before he retreats. Back at the ranch, Rinna starts interviewing Otta about his first experience with the Heaviness, Otta still doesn't believe in the Heaviness; even though he experienced it first hand.
Kyuu says that everyone on the Net knows that Gravity Surges are a portent of the Roidmudes' rampages. Otta continues his outright stupidity by saying that unless he sees something he doesn't believe it. Normally I'd agree but you have several witnesses saying the exact same thing, including your colleagues who were standing right next to you, looking behind you that saw the whole thing! Also there was that little rampage six months ago, who do you think caused that, Goblins? Shinnosuke decides to bring the gift of logic and brings a composite of the man in the green hood. He then adjusts his tie, Kiriko comments that Shinnosuke has shifted into gear. Specifically his brain's gear.
I seriously want to know who drew this! They just look adorable.
Apparently Shinnosuke was an Elite in the Special Investigations Department before he transferred to the S.C.D. I'll get into my theories on this later, right now Tomari (I'm calling him that for now since everyone else seems too) is sprinting all over town looking for people who know the person from the composite shot. The man is identified as Masuda Nobuo, who was a regular at a local sports club. The Belt comments that the face is the same but the hair is different. As well as having a completely different Physique from the attack. Masuda follows someone coming out of the sports club to a park where he attacks after transforming into 029. Tomari tries to stop him but 029 causes the heaviness to stop him where he starts turning the man red.
Now we really know what made the Red man red.
Stupid fucking white man
Anyways the belt summons the Red Shift car; Max Flare which lands into a car slot on Tomari's belt which allows him to move through the Heaviness normally. He tries to fight 029 but a Spider and Bat Roidmude show up to back 029 up. Apparently there are various levels of Heaviness since even with one Shift Car Tomari still can't move when the two new Roidmudes activate the Heaviness. The Bat and Spider nearly kill Tomari when the Car shows up to block their laser blasts. Kiriko gets out and starts kicking the Roidmudes asses when Tomari notices she has the green and purple Shift cars on her with the same clip that's on Tomari's belt. She tells him to quit screwing around and fight. Tomari asks why she knows about the belt but she tells him that there's no time to explain. The belt sends the car, called Tridoron to fire at the Roidmudes. Tomari asks Belt (yes that is what he calls the belt) what he should do, Belt says to transform, he then summons a red Shift Car and Tomari's Henshin device called the Shift Brace and instructs him on how to transform. Belt says that Tomari lost something precious in the past, but he can save it now. As long as he has his comrades he can move faster then anyone, even in a gravity surge, as the warrior Drive. Tomari then Transforms and we finally get our first look at Drive.
Kamen Rider Drive Type Speed.
He then proceeds to fight the three Roidmudes. He seems to be holding his own until 029 gets in on the action; Kiriko sends out the other two Shift Cars called Spike and Shadow over to Drive. Thanks to the Shift Cars Drive can change the abilities of the tire on his torso. Drive then swaps Shift Cars to Max Flare, giving him a tire with flame shaped protrusions and fire powers. He uses the Shift Bracer to summon a flaming wheel to launch at 029 creating a flaming vortex when it hits. Of course Bat and Spider aren't done and attack again, Drive changes again to Funky Spike which can launch energy spike projectiles and while he's holding an opponent can spin at super speeds which throws the Spider Roidmude into the air and destroys it leaving behind a floating set of numbers, 042. The Bat Roidmude, 088 and 029 are not amused. Drive changes again to Midnight Shadow which creates giant energy shurikens. He destroys 088 and throws more shurikens to destroy the floating numbers which really gets 029 angry. Belt tells Drive to change back to Speed Tire to finish him. He does so and finishes off 029 with his Rider Kick. The energy number retreats while Drive goes to check on the victim. He's safe but Tomari notices a foil strip next to the victim and takes it. Later that night Kiriko takes Tomari to a secret location underneath the Kuruma station.
OMG Bruce Wayne is Batman!
No this is the Drive Pit, which will act as their base. Kiriko says that nobody knows about this place, not even the S.C.D. Belt congratulates Tomari on his success on his first case. Tomari however thinks that it's not over yet, he questions whether 029 was trying to kill his victims and looks at the two scraps from the crime scenes. We cut to the number of 029 gasping for breath when this guy shows up.
We end the first episode with 029 entering the car Heart is holding, transforming into a ball of light with Heart grinning. So for a first episode it's not too bad. It does exactly what it has to do, set the tone for the series, a general layout of how these episodes will play out, the characters and how they work off each other and establishing our villains. We also get some intrigue about Belt, Tomari and Kiriko. Why is Tomari Drive, what is the connection to Drive and the Roidmudes, what exactly are the Roidmudes up too and so on. Time for me to go into theories on Tomari, based on Kiriko's observations and what we saw during the Global Freeze; Tomari probably used to be a very serious, intelligent officer, but after the incident with Hayase he seems to have mental trauma and survivors guilt, which manifests as this new laid back attitude as a coping mechanism and mental repression. And when he adjusts his tie that could be a temporary break from the trauma. He may have actually been Drive but that knowledge and previous relationship between Kiriko and Belt could have also been repressed. Kiriko does seem to know more about the Drive powers here since she was the one to show Tomari how to use Belt and showed him where the Drive Pit is. Hopefully we will get some answers in the upcoming episodes. Now for the rest of these episode recaps I will switch to V-Logs. If I keep doing every episode like this I'll never be able to get them out in a timely manner. Keep an ear to the ground people.

Tokusatsu Review Kamen Rider Taisen Part 4: Patience is Breakable

After the second most obvious joke I could ever make in this review, Fifteen uses some form of pyrokinesis to burn Shuu's "I hate you" message. Fifteen says that it's unnecessary since apparently Shuu will be coming back to life.
Sorry pal, but you don't exactly strike me as a White Mage.
Kouta, obviously asks what the hell he's talking about and Fifteen explains that Badan isn't actually an Underground Empire, but actually an Empire of the dead! The big plan is to use Shuu's 7th dimension power to reverse the world of the dead into the world of the living. Called, the Mega Reverse Project.
I would have totally gone with this plan, but they never called me, uuuuuuuuhhhhhhh.
Shuu points out the obvious, that if Netherrealm is merged with EarthRealm his Mom will die, thus why he ran from Badan. Fifteen, not exactly having everything right upstairs says that if Shuu comes back to life Shuu's mom will be happy. And dead, don't forget dead. Shuu refuses to help so Dad needs to spank him, so he pulls out his Sengoku driver. Kouta, not one for that type of tough-love parenting agrees with Shuu and says that there's no reason for Badan to take away the future from the living. Fifteen then transforms saying that he won't let anything get in his way. Kouta then pulls out his driver in response, they both transform and begin their rematch. Round two, FIGHT! Gaim starts by clearing a path through the Combat-Roids for Shuu to run away while he fights Fifteen. Gaim tries to reason with him saying that he knows what it's like losing someone you care for. Probably even more so then Fifteen since at this point in continuity Gaim found out the truth about Yuya. Fifteen still says that Gaim can't beat him. Fifteen is almost about to kill Gaim when Decade shows up to save him. Decade tells Shuu that his mom is waiting for him at the lighthouse; Gaim then gives Decade a Rose attacker Lockseed to give the two an escape vehicle while Gaim holds off Fifteen.
Now that's one hell of a green-thumb.
Gaim says that even though the paper is gone, Shuu can still make things up with his Mom. Decade and Shuu ride off with Gaim switching to his Ichigo (Strawberry) arms to continue the fight. Tsukasa powers down for some dumb reason; which lets him and Shuu fall off the bike when they're attacked by General Jark. But then Jark gets intercepted by two Shōwa Riders, specifically Kamen Riders Black, and Black Rx.
Sorry for the Masked Rider flashbacks.
Okay, this is impossible as I will explain. Black and Black Rx, are supposed to be the same person, Kotaro Minami. Also, no this isn't a power transfer or legacy hero type of thing. Black Rx is just an evolved version of Black. So for both of these incarnations of the same person to show up at the same time is impossible. Also, this movie never gives an explanation where the extra Black classic came from. But for the movies plot of all Fifteen of the Shōwa era Kamen Riders to appear in this movie and give us the 15 Vs 15 thing, I have no choice but to let this slide. Anyway, both of the Blacks take care of the goons and finish off Jark with a double Rider Kick. Before you think that this is a good thing, remember, in this movie, the Shōwa riders are dicks. The Blacks say Tsukasa is their next target claiming that the Heisei Riders are to blame for Badan showing up and that they can't forgive the Heisei riders for that and must be taken down with Badan. No, I'm not using the Nick Cage "Bullshit" clip, I'm saving that for when we find out why the Shōwa Riders think this. The Blacks then get intercepted by Shotaro, who now knows that it's all out war between the two generations of Riders. Tsukasa pulls out his driver, but Shotaro says that he'll handle the Blacks saying that he wants to protect all of Futo, even if it's just a turtle or a kid who's already dead. Instead of pulling out his W driver he instead pulls out his Lost Driver.
This is the Double Driver, which Shotaro normally uses to merge with Philip to become W.
This is the lost driver, which can be used without needing Philip.
I'm guessing that Shotaro only pulls out the Double driver these days in case the opponent he's fighting is too strong for him alone. So this way, he doesn't have to go overboard when fighting. You don't need to use a Shotgun to open a can of beans is what I'm getting at. Also, Shotaro felt it would be appropriate for two old black riders to fight the new black rider as he transforms into Kamen Rider Joker. Joker is holding off the two Blacks when Kaito shows up to help him as Baron. The Blacks have an advantage over Baron so he switches to Mango arms.
We all know that mango can fight with the best of them, ahahaha!
With that Baron is back in the game and helps Joker fight off the Blacks. Um Rx, you do know that you can change forms too right? Don't want to switch to Bio Rider and outmaneuver the guy with the large, heavy melee weapon, or get to a distance and pick them off with Robo Rider since neither of your opponents have projectile weapons? Hello? Anybody? Oh wait, heh I'm sorry, there goes me and my logic again, my mistake! Ignoring what I actually know about his powers Black Rx just goes for his revolcrash finishing move but gets defeated with a combo of Joker's Maximum drive Rider Kick and Baron's Mango Squash finisher. When Black Rx is defeated he turns into a Lockseed. But Joker and Baron aren't out of the woods yet as Black gets backup from Kamen Riders Amazon and Super-1. We get ourselves another chunk of character inconsistency pie since Amazon is as big on friendship as Fourze. Hell from Fourze's hyper battle video the two get along like peas in a pod. But enough of pointing how this movie is stupid, back to the fight. Amazon and Super-1 are about to finish off Joker with their finishing moves, but Baron intercepts them and is defeated.
Now my collection is one step closer to, holy crap a giant rock!
We then cut to Ambassador Darkness holding the Black Rx Lockseed saying that this isn't enough. He instructs his Monster army to collect all the Rider Lockseeds. Tsukasa finally manages to bring Shuu to the lighthouse, Tsukasa telling Shuu that his Mom has been to the lighthouse many times since he died. Shuu runs to see his mother one more time.
I'm back bitches!
Yep, Fifteen teleports in with Combat-Roids who finally manage to capture Shuu. Fifteen tells Tsukasa to stop getting in the way. Tsukasa says the same thing saying that Shuu wanted to fix things with his Mom so badly he gained the power to reverse anything. He asks Fifteen if he understood what that meant. Fifteen just asks who he is, Tsukasa gives his catchphrase "I'm just a passing though Kamen Rider, Remember that." and he transforms into Decade. The two Riders fight, with the Roids taking Shuu away. Decade says not to get to cocky since Fifteens number is bigger then his. Fifteen says that unlike Decade he can transform into all the Heisei Riders, including Decade. He then pulls out his Heisei Rider Lockseed and transforms into Decade arms.
Decade plus 15, shouldn't this be Kamen Rider 25?
Decade counters by transforming into Kamen Rider Hibiki using Hibiki's fire powers to gain an advantage but Fifteen just uses Hibiki's weapons as well, throwing the fireball back. Decade then transforms into Kamen Rider Kuuga but Fifteen then just switches to Fourze arms and blasts Decade back to his base form.
The only time Fourze looks legitimately threatening.
Fifteen decides that playtime is over and switches to what he calls the ultimate transformation. He switches to Gaim arms.
Aaaaaand boned!
Fifteen then overpowers Decade, forcing Tsukasa to power down. The real Gaim shows up and sees Shuu getting taken away. Fifteen intercepts Gaim and, like last time Gaim can barely touch this guy. Gaim then pulls out his Kachidoki Lockseed and transforms into his super form, Kachidoki arms.
For the record, my favorite Super Form design.
Fifteen then tries to send out more Combat-Roids to stop Gaim, but as expected Gaim just swats them away like flies. Gaim pulls out his awesome DJ Gun, sets it to its low DJ Pitch and blows the goons away with his hand cannon. Fifteen takes over with the two finally on even ground. Gaim switches the DJ gun to its sword mode and the two fire energy blasts, which collide and forces Kouta to power down while Fifteen and the Roids teleport away with Shuu, Shuu saying to protect everyone's futures. Tsukasa questions this coming from someone who's already dead. Kouta is offended by how Tsukasa said that, asking to take Shuu's feelings into consideration. Tsukasa responds by saying they need to hurry gathering the Heisei Riders, and that this is for making Shuu's wish come true. We cut to, oh not again!
The movie's restarted!
No, no we just finally caught up. While the Riders are slugging the crap out of each-other we get a new face showing up.
No, really? I though he was a representative of Carealot.

How brief you may ask? All Schwarz does is say that the Shadow Line would benefit from this and that he already sent one of his Kurainer trains to attack Kamen Rider Den-O. He might as well have said that he was there to raid their fridge. To be fair he does cause the Den liner to be destroyed, again. Tsukasa sees this while right next to him Kamen Rider Super-1 is fighting against Kamen Rider Agito, Super-1 using his Elec hands while Agito goes into his Trinity form. Both of their finishing moves collide and both are turned into Lockseeds. We then see the Pink energy getting really, really, dangerous as it turns into a geyser of evil energy, erupting out of the ground, Tsukasa telling Kouta that Badan is finally making their move. We then cut to the Generalissimo of Badan (the aforementioned Giant rock) giving a speech to his troops as their super weapon rises to the surface. Shuu is hooked up inside of the machine pleading with his father not to go through with this. Though we still have about half an hour of this thing left to go, which I will be tackling half of next time.
