Personal Post: Worst to best Another Riders: Part 3 #9-1

When you're done read, comment, spread the links, re-tweet and follow me on Twitter @OnDavidsBrain!, support me on Patreon and watch my Twitch Channel Every Saturday at 12:00 ET

Yes there is an Another Grand Zi-o Another Watch, no it didn't appear in the show proper; just in a stage show. Wasted potential is indeed wasted.

Time to wrap this list up and get ready for the winter fun. Here's where the other Another Riders ranked up for those who haven't been following the countdown.

#23-17 https://ondavidsbrain.blogspot.com/2019/10/personal-post-worst-to-best-another.html

#16-10 https://ondavidsbrain.blogspot.com/2019/11/personal-post-worst-to-best-another.html

Kicking off the last part of this list is the first of the three Future Another Riders to debut, Another Shinobi.
You know, it's sometimes the simplest things that are the most remembered. I mean how can the words evil, skeleton and Ninja not be cool when put together? From the Tekkō-kagi to the skeleton face it may be a simple design off of a kit bash Kamen Rider but when it works it works. And the contract holder being the man who eventually does become Shinobi does make for a nice bit of irony. Though whether the original Kamen Rider Shinobi will actually be a rider in 2022 is still up in the air but if Another Time: Kamen Rider Shinobi is anything to go by; I hope not.

Sound the drums for #8 Another Hibiki.
Honestly I shouldn’t be giving this Another Rider such a high spot on this list considering that this lead to that narcissistic, lying, arrogant, undeserving wank toad Kirya Kyosuke to become the new Hibiki. Because on top of how he behaved in the original Hibiki series; Kyosuke was responsible for Another Hibiki’s contract holder to make the deal with his blatant lying to a naive child just to stroke his own ego when we all know that Asumu is the true, rightful successor to the title of Hibiki. But putting that aside I have to give credit that the design of this Another Rider is just plain awesome. The Hibiki Riders were referred to as Oni and Another Hibiki's design truly brings to mind statues of Shinto gods to where I could defenitly see Another Hibiki riding on a thunder cloud. Sometimes you just have to give credit where it's due and Another Hibiki is a top tier designed Another Rider, despite the show it came from and the guy that beat him.
Next is one of the two most reoccurring Another Riders, one that honestly should have been the big bad given his powers but was knocked down because he was just a complete wenis, #7 Another Zi-O.
Now if Oma Zi-O wasn't going to be the final boss (and spoilers he wasn't but we'll get to that later) than that honor should have gone to the Another Rider of the protagonist. Hell; of the Another Riders Another Zi-O is the second most reoccurring in the show. Though his powers were a little weird, now his precognitive powers are understandable considering that that was the main power of Zi-O II which debuted only a few episodes prior to his introduction but him switching between previous Another Riders sounds like something that should be Another Decade's wheelhouse. Though the design works pretty well as just a more armored Zi-O with a monstrous face. Also giving him an actual Rider belt with his Another RideWatch on there was a decent way to make him stand out among his contemporaries.

Though sadly the Contract holder Hiryu should have been more of a threat, but with how he was portrayed (and not actually seeing how his life was screwed over with his parents being indirectly killed; just that nobody was there to get him at the hospital) he just comes off as a whiny, stupid, spiteful, narrow-minded, insane, tool. Now say what you will about Superboy Prime turning evil in Infinite Crisis but we can at least understand why and how he got to that point, Hiryu on the other hand has nothing. Also it took until Schwartz was telling him to his face that he was a pawn in his poorly constructed game and creating an alternate timeline where he rules the world as king Dickhead the 1st with his army of Another Riders to get the idea that Sougo might not be responsible for his life getting screwed over? Though according to the stage show even that wasn't enough to convince this asshole if the Another Oma Zi-O watch at the top of this review wasn't enough of a tipoff. So yes while the Another Zi-O powers themselves and the design works, Hiryu himself is just not compelling enough to get him any higher on the list.

#6 goes to the last regular Another Rider, Another Drive.
Hopefully after the double barrels I wasted on the last guy we can keep this short and sweet. This brings us to Another Drive; the last of the non General Another Riders. Now I just love the asymmetry of its design, it looks like the regular Drive after a Blues Brothers esq Car crash. From the twisted metal, the driver that looks like it has a brain in it (since that's where Krim's consciousness was stored) and the Two Face like helmet it's like the Jackson Pollok of monster designs. Also it reminds me of the Monsters from Carranger/ Power Rangers Turbo; specifically when Rv Robo/ The Turbo Megazord got highjacked by the villains; just that Stallone sneer sells it for me.

Also the Contractor being Roidmude 108 aka Kamen Rider Dark Drive/Paradox Roidmude disguised as Ora admittedly had me fooled. And since Another Drive is a Roidmude it can use the Heaviness to freeze opponents so Another Drive can just wail on them as well as shapeshifter into anyone they want to avoid detection. Speaking of wailing the way Sougo just beat Another Drive into the dirt after it killed Heure was chilling. So while the last of the rank and file Another Riders it certainly was one of the better ones. Now for the top 5, here we go.

#5 heralds the return of the meme God Dan Kuroto as Another OOO.
Now as an Another Rider Another OOO is pretty standard, not really much in terms of twisting OOO's powers we don't see him switch to any forms or anything like that, but he can make Waste Yummies, so there's that. The basic design is still good highlighting the animal aspects of OOO'S Tatoba default form with the spikes on the grasshopper legs and the tiger claws, though the Hawk wings are a little silly looking, they look like big, floppy bunny ears. No, the real reason this is so high is cause the contractor is the God Dan Kuroto!!! Now while that is blatant fanboyism this series gives us very little actual entertainment so we have to take what we can get. So while the God Dan Kuroto might not make it to the very top we can at least remember the time he created Japanese Kickassia.

#4 is claimed by the twisted parody of the first (technically 4th) Heisei Rider; Another Kuuga.
As the Another Rider of Kuuga a certain degree of importance comes with this one. Now while I would give it more credit for this being the only Another Rider that's a natural giant and that this thing is legitimately terrifying I have to keep that honor off due to Tiddlywinks being a bit of a mess as a character. I mean we know nothing about him, Schwartz doesn't mention him; what was even the point of this guy? Again I'm not counting Another Rider upgraded forms so Another Ultimate Kuuga is not being mentioned but if I was I'd actually rate him lower since he just gets the traditional Shirakura one-sided villain curb stomp. So I'll just give this CGI nightmare a rather respectable place on the list.

#3 goes to the poorly motivated final boss of Kamen Rider Zi-O; Another Decade.
Let me get this out of the way, this thing looks like a badass. You know how all throughout Decade everyone was saying how he was the destroyer of worlds, the Devil and the unholy god of destruction? This is what I would have expected from that kind of hype instead of the smug, pink putz that we got instead. But his powers are a little weird, now opening up Tears to summon Evil Kamen Riders from universes where they won is a nice subversion of Tsukasa's World traveling powers and Diend's Rider summoning (though this begs the question of what Another Diend is going to to do since Diend's gimmick was stollen by this guy) but like I said when talking about Another Zi-O shouldn't Another Decade's powers include being able to switch between the other Another Riders' powers as well as the summon A.R Riders thing? Now since he's the final villain of Zi-O I tried not to put him at the #1 Spot by default because that would be lazy, thankfully there's other reasons why he only gets the bronze medal.

Namely that Schwartz' plan makes no sense. So he wants to save his timeline from being destroyed, easy so far, so how he goes about this is creating Oma Zi-O. So Schwartz does this was well as recruiting the Timejackers to create Another Riders as part of a big misdirection to just let Sougo get stronger, and even then he needed the power of Kamen Rider Decade to make his plan work. He becomes Another Decade, summons Dark Riders, lets the multiverse get recked more than a D.C Comics Crisis event and when Sougo does finally become Oma Zi-O he thinks that now that he's only just shown up without the decades of experience the future monster has he could claim those powers and rule as the king of time. But in the end since all of this was actually just to spite his little sister who was chosen to inherit the Timejacker lineage and not him, he just gets curb stomped and Sougo decides to use Made in Heaven to rewrite the timeline so that he and the rest get to live out a normal life without Kamen Rider Zi-O except Woz who survives the world alteration because reasons.

Jesus Christ and people think that Master Xehanort from Kingdom Hearts and Revolver Ocelot from Metal Gear Solid had overly long, complicated and convoluted plans. I mean yeah in terms of dumb villain plans this goes way beyond making Twin Clones of Hitler, making Nightcrawler the Pope or Dr Doom's plan from Ultimatum this is just, ugh. Back to the positives his design once again highlights the only good thing about Zi-O, with the Devil horns, the batwing where the Decade name is and the belt looking like a demonic mouth; this thing looks damn cool. So while Schwartz' plan is absolutely moronic at least Another Decade is as powerful and intimidating as a final Boss should be. But you can have the nicest looking car with a super up engine, but without a solid frame you'll have something that'll fall apart the moment you try to step on the gas. Now I know my analogy is off since I'm not a car person but you know what I'm getting at right?

The #2 slot goes to the tragic Another Blade.
Once again the design of Another Blade is top tier. Since Kamen Rider Blade was based off a Rhinoceros battle the designers decided to highlight the Rhinoceros part of that name with the much bulkier armor and the horn that looks more like a drill. The perverted Blay Rouzer is a wondrous little treat with the buzzsaw in place of where the Rouze Cards would be on the original, though speaking of sadly we don't see Another Blade using the powers of the Spade suit Undead mostly relying on brute strength since she's being forced into becoming Another Blade. Oh and the cherry on top, the contract holder is Amane from the original series, being forced to cause havoc in the blind pursuit of her father figure Hajime just to lure out Kenzaki. Though her absorbing the powers of both the Jokers, becoming the winner of the Battle Fight and unleashing an army of Joker Undead was kind of dumb in my opinion so that slight bump had Amane settle with the silver medal.
Finally this leads us to my #1 favorite Another Rider, Another Kabuto.
If you couldn't tell from my list I tend to list Another Riders in terms of design, contractor, powers and story execution, by that criteria Another Kabuto is what I consider to be the best Another Rider. In terms of Design the organic Worm design of Another Kabuto makes for a perfect perversion of the technological, man made original. The Contractor is another great choice, Sou Yaguruma AKA the first Kamen Rider TheBee and Kamen Rider KickHopper being one of Souji's original rivals getting the powers of Kabuto and working with a Worm Copy of his dead partner Kageyama (Worms don't work like that) to destroy all of humanity with another Asteroid full of Worms that was summoned as a side effect of Ginga knowing full well that the Worm was using him. This makes for a rather substantial threat if you ask me. As for the powers, get this in addition to Another Kabuto he still has the powers of Kickhopper so if one rider set get beat he can just switch to the other to continue the fight and since both can still clock up only another ZECT designed Rider or Worm could stand a chance against him.

Story-wise when we're not focusing on Woz playing around with Ginga Finally we have Kagami trying to stop him while slowly but surely getting what he wanted back in the first episode of Kabuto and become worthy of the Kabuto Zecter which he uses to put the nihilistic fake in his place once and for all. Honestly the Kabuto Arc of Zi-O was the best of the bunch and is all the more frustrating since it shows that the creators of the show could have done instead of what we got instead. But with that I'm done with reviews for 2019, it's been a long year, a long decade actually and with the holidays coming up I need a bit of a break. So with that, check back in at 2020 were I kick off the new decade with a few top lists. The top Movies, Anime, Video Games, Kamen Rider series; whatever of each year from 2010 to 2019.

And with the break for the month that should give me plenty of time to mull those choices over. Though I will be getting back to the V-Logs and posting Lets Plays of course I'm not ready to close up shop all together here. Though I will still be doing the streams on Saturday of God of War on PS4. Though I do have a new Switch Lite and Pokemon Sword to work on so there's that. But in any case I would like to thank everyone for sticking with me for all this time and have a happy holiday.

Manga Review Oriko Magica The Extra Story Noisy Citrine: You mean she wasn't always crazy?!

When you're done read, comment, spread the links, re-tweet and follow me on Twitter @OnDavidsBrain!, support me on Patreon and watch my Twitch Channel Every Saturday at 12:00 ET

It's been a while since we've checked in on these two isn't it folks? Now we're back to talking about two of the Madoka Magica spinoff mangas Anti-villains, Oriko Mifune and her rabid pet Kirika Kure. Yes, apparently these two went over so well that the publishers decided to give them more spinoffs. Slight problem, last time we saw them they had a lot of not being alive eating up their schedule, but thankfully this series has a convenient multiverse set up so that we can just go to another version of the pair for more stories. So for this one Volume we have some stories explaining how the two met and explore more of how Little Green's mother is a rancid piece of dead rat meat that not even Chris Brown would want to hit if only so he could avoid making contract with her.

Yes, this character is such a piece of filth in my eyes that even Chris Brown would avoid her like the plague. But that fun comes later. For now we open on Kirika remembering a childhood friend of hers named Erika. After the newly contracted Kirika and her thic legs kills her first witch she plans on "coincidentally" running into Oriko at the train station and hopefully confess her love and adoration for her. But she completely wusses out so she decides to just go to school, but not before her old friend Erika catches sight of and recognizes her from the train. In class she starts freaking out about how even after she wished for her personality change she still can't nut up and tell Oriko she loves her. Um kid, you do realize that you only just met her and might not remember you, so your suddenly confessing to her might come off as what we in the lonely hearts club call crazy?!

See even mental Oriko thinks you're off your gourd. Also out of obligation, You're tearing me APART LISA!!!
Walking home from school she has another little freak out and literally runs into Erika. Erika tries to talk but after some flashbacks Kirika pushes her away and runs off in a panic. Later on she's become more focused on taking out witches as a means to blow off steam about how her plans aren't playing out as she expected.
"And then she and I would spend long nights looking into each other's eyes, summers on the beach with shaved ice during the day and sandy cuddling by night! I mean I figured once I actually talk to her she'd take me and, OH WAIT I actually have to talk to her don't I? Right...."
See, even when Kyubey of all things thinks you're living in la la land you know you're more than a little bit wacko. Don't give me that face you know it's true. Also what's there to understand? You're a nervous stalker that can't spill the beans and tell her you love her."
Though it's not like she regrets everything about her wish but the reason why she did it in the first place is what's frustrating, that and the mess with running into Erika after god knows how long didn't help much either. Speaking of which, we end the first half of Noisy Citrine with Kirika picking up a Witch's scent and Erika stumbling into an abandoned factory with her eyes glazed over. The second half of our story opens with how Erika got into this mess in the first place with her having difficulty accepting her new stepdad and going for a walk when a Witch starts planting dark thoughts in her head. Kirika dives into the Labyrinth and finds Erika about to hang herself from a tree. Kirika manages to cut the rope in time but manages to draw the Witch's ire.

"Holy crap I didn't think this through!"
She tries to take out the Jewel Sundae Witch with one strike but since of course its body is made of super hardened rocks her attacks are about on par with this.

As she lands flat on her ass Erika tells her to give up and leave her to die since everybody hates her. She even thinks that Kirika is trying to save her since she also hates her for what she did to her when she moved away. What exactly happened was that Kirika found Erika shoplifting and she literally left Kirika holding the bag, Erika moved away and Kirika was left to take the fall for her crime, thus leading Kirika to distance herself from others and vice versa. But Kirika finally realizes what was wrong with her. Even though she says that she wants to change she hasn't changed at all and doesn't just want to stay in one place anymore.

So with her resolve hardened Kirika slices the Jewel Witch in half saving Erika's life. Later on in Oriko's rose garden she's reading a letter that Erika sent her telling her how things are improving between her and her stepfather. So we end Noisy Citrine with Oriko poking fun at Kirika and asking her about who this "important person" in the letter she's referring to is. So that wraps up the Noisy Citrine segment and the tone wasn't quite what I was expecting considering who was the main character of the story. This Kirika is far, far more stable than the rabid attack dog that we saw the first time, this one is shy, goofy and much more light hearted.

This change in characterization can mostly be attributed due this taking place before she got together with Oriko, got in on her "kill Madoka" plan and started killing Magical Girls so she's clearly more stable. We learn a little more about her and why it was that Oriko's act of kindness had such an effect on her and lead to her making her wish. The artwork has also improved considerably with characters looking much more like people and not like a bunch of CLAMP style noodle demon people and with much more vibrant and consistent facial expressions. But we're not done yet as next time we'll continue with Oriko's focused story Symmetry Diamond and see not only a new villainous Magical Girl but also the living hell that is Yuma's home life. Does that sound fun to you?

No? Too bad we're still doing it, believe me this won't be all that much fun for me either.

Tokusatsu Review: Kamen Rider Heisei Generations Part 2: Five Player Co-op action!

When you're done read, comment, spread the links, re-tweet and follow me on Twitter @OnDavidsBrain! and support me on Patreon.

Wow guys, just look at those bad-ass Beetleborgs
Now for those of you who came in late here's the link to the first part of this review.

http://ondavidsbrain.blogspot.com/2017/07/tokusatsu-review-kamen-rider-heisei.html

Caught up? Good moving on, after the Pac-Man fever was cured a very familiar man with a certain ring observes the city and starts to form a plan. As for our villains Zaizen learns firsthand that just like Jack from BioShock maybe rewriting your DNA on a whim isn't exactly the smartest idea in the world. Yet instead of turning into something out of a David Cronenberg movie he says he got exactly what he was looking for. Have to admit though, first time Plasmid's a real kick from a mule, but there's nothing like a fist full of lightning an't it? Back at CR both Alan and Makoto are in recovery while Kagami's barely holding on himself from the slugfest to the point where Taiga offers to take over while he gets some rest.

Takeru's still suffering from Hatena's virus and Emu's gone straight into the self-doubt cycle. Poppy tries to shake him out of it but to no avail while Kiriya asks her why Emu can become Ex-Aid if he didn't undergo the compatibility surgery, but we'll answer that later. Back at Zaizen's base Shinnosuke and the Police have the place surrounded, but before Zoolander can unleash the full power of Magnum on them Haruto uses his magic to sweep the cops away into the Corn-fields. Zaizen tells the captive Tougo that he'll be their first test subject for their grand experiment, to become the Ultimate Life FOR FUCKS SAKE THIS AGAIN!? Yep our main bad guy for this movie is yet another Dr Moreau type asshole who wants to "perfect humanity through evolution" by screwing around with DNA.
So he wants to turn humanity into Edgelord versions of Iron Man? Somewhere Charles Darwin is trying to eat his own beard, maybe Takeru could check and see; he does still have his Eyecon as far as I know.
But Iron Man needs War Machine so he gets to work on converting Tougo into another monster like him when Zoolander and Haruto come in and Haruto offers to join their little Science club from hell. But when Zoolander tries to object Haruto points out that he got rid of the cops with no problem and Mr "Can't turn left" over there wasn't up for the job, and Crimson Dynamo says, "sure the more the merrier" and accepts. Back in CR Takeru gets a call from Shinnosuke who tells him the location of Zaizen's hideout which sends him up and running after finding out he and Akari have only 8 hours left before the Virus kills them, and in Takeru's case again. After one of Takeru's speeches Emu manages to crawl out of his self-doubt cycle and tells him he's not doing this crazy shit on his own and suits up while the other prominent players make their own preparations.

Emu and Takeru make it to the hideout and Haruto lets them right on in as part of his plan, after confirming that he's Kamen Rider Wizard of course since these two never met Haruto, nor did Shinnosuke so he couldn't tell them he was on the up and up. The three Riders crash the party and Hatena sends some Foot Solder Bugsters to back the Models up. While showing of more of Sakamoto's awesome fight choreography Shinnouske shows up to help out the Riders.

Shinnouske recognizes Mongo as the one who pulled that Ice T and starts seeing red. Yet not even Shinnosuke's best "I am a Man" punch can even tickle him, also free tip, don't bother shooting him it'll just make him mad. The four Riders are cornered by Zaizen and his goons when all of a sudden we get a good old fashioned case of Deus Ex Fructus as Fruit Jesus himself Kamen Rider Gaim literally crashes the party. And he managed to bring Krim along because he's Fruit Jesus LOL, in any case Shinnosuke can transform now so great we have five Kamen Riders against five evil nut jobs. So both sides do their respective transformations and the fight is on. Wizard gets to humiliate Zoolander again, Drive settles the score with Mongo, Ghost and Ex-Aid take on Hatena and Dynamo respectively which just leaves Gaim to take care of Valentina.

While Drive, Wizard and Gaim finish up their fights with little to no trouble once they used their final forms that doesn't work out well for Ghost as all of his forms are completely useless against Hatena. (But then again Mugen sucks out loud so no surprise there.) But before Hatena can put Takeru down again the movie pulls a Gosei and gives Takeru A BRAND NEW POWER UP RIGHT OUT OF FUCKING NOWHERE!!! Noubunaga drags Takeru inside of his Eyecon and tells him that he, Hideyoshi and Ieyasu have decided to fuse together, because of reasons.

Thus creating another Movie Exclusive form for Ghost, Tenkatoitsu Damashii.
But you must be thinking, "wait this Bugster was able to overpower Ghost's Final form there's no way this brand new form could do the job that his most powerful form failed to do right?" Well if you are asking that then you must be new to Tokusatsu so in case you are, whenever they introduce a new form, it's an automatic win condition for that fight logic be damned. So with this brand new, untested and undoubtedly weaker new form, Ghost kills Hatena in no time flat, thanks Yogurt! Ghost then goes after Crimson Dynamo and accidentally reads his memories revealing that he was the one who extracted the original Bugster virus from Emu 6 years before. During Dynamo's unholy beat down of Emu he gets an idea, to give him a taste of the same hell he and his minions experienced, so he inserts the Proto Mighty Action X Gashat into Emu's Gamer Driver along with his normal Mighty Action X Gashat to make him OD on the Bugster Virus and send him to the Game World.

But that's where Dynamo made his mistake, since Emu is Patient Zero and his Bugster (Parado) is still around he's still infected with the original strain. So all that did was give Emu a home-brew, bootleg esq version of the Mighty Brothers XX Gashat (in other words a temporary preview of his then upcoming form) so he transforms into Ex-Aid Double Action Gamer Level XX and he and Ghost finish of Hatena and Dynamo for good. So we begin to warp things up with Takeru and Akari's Game Syndrome being cured, Tougo being saved, the Riders congratulate each other on a job well done, Takeru dies for what was it the 6th time now?

But as expected he pulls through, (yet doesn't lose any braincells despite his body dying so once again science can go suck on a railroad spike) and everyone's happy. So the movie truly ends with Kuroto and Parado gloating how their plans are coming closer to fruition thanks to the information they got from observing Zaizen's activities, not the least of which being that Kuroto finished two new Gashats. The first is Pac-Adventures, the second is a new game for Parado, Perfect Puzzle one half of the Gashat that makes up Kamen Rider Paradox.

So that was Kamen Rider Heisei Generations and despite some bumps in the road this was a pretty good movie. Like a lot of the really good tie-in movies the events of this story actually are followed up on in the main show but that's not what makes a movie good (though it is a nice touch) nope the characters are on point, don't contradict their portrayals from the main show and some even show their lives have developed once they've hung up their belts. We see Takeru going to High School and move on with his life, Shinnosuke working for his wife and new baby and Haruto, continue to be one of the most boring Kamen Riders in recent history by having yet another plain sugar donut. You notice that I didn't mention Gaim but that's because we didn't see Kouta (mostly due to his actor Gaku Sano not being able to make it to filming so they had to use stock voice clips of him, wait they really couldn't just get him into a booth to churn out some new lines?)

Though there were some flaws, Zaizen's plan was stock and generic in this genre though the execution of it was competent, unorthodox but competent. The three goons he had were physically strong but had rather stock personalities, hell we never heard their names spoken out loud though out the movie. Also yes we saw their names on Shinnosuke's files on them but they still didn't hear them so I don't care. Oh and also Takeru still sucks like a vacuum cleaner, his supposed final form wasn't enough to defeat the Hatena Bugster but an Eyecon composed of three spirits was enough to do the job even though Grateful couldn't scratch him?

Also if Chiaotzu gets a free Sundae when he died 3 times what does Takeru get when he dies 6 times? But aside from that the writing was competent and even the Pac-Man CGI was pretty damn good, like I said far better then that blight of an Adam Sandler movie since he actually looks like Pac-Man in this movie. So overall even if you aren't watching Kamen Rider Ex-Aid I'd still give this movie a watch just to see some shenanigans and really good fight choreography. Now what to do next time? Oh wait, next Monday is the 21st? My friends we will begin an expedition to the world of one of my all time favorite video games with a Lets Play in honor of its 10th anniversary.

Personal Post: My opinion of Five Nights at Freddy's: I don't want a heart attack.

Please be sure to read, comment, spread the links, re-tweet and follow me on Twitter @OnDavidsBrain! and support me on Patreon.

Well here we are people another year another Five Nights at Freddy's game to make people scream and shit their pants at the sight of Animatronic demons. And I am SO not one of those people. Alright look I'll give my opinion of these games as succinctly as I can. I respect Five Nights at Freddy's but I'll never play any of those games for as long as I live. I do however like these games, not for the actual games themselves but what they mean for the gamer community itself, not just the indie developers.

FNAF stands as a shining example of what happens when you properly listen to critics, don't let yourself get bogged down by negativity, have a solid and simple concept, and just good old fashioned hard work, care and respect for your fans. Now I may be talking out of my old poop shoot but that's just what I feel when I look at Scott and the relatively short history of this franchise. I mean it's only been 2 years since the first game showed up on Steam and it's almost up there with Mario in terms of Gaming iconography (I mean real iconic not Ubisoft iconic (sorry for borrowing that one Jim)) I mean it's crazy we've got the six games, FNAF action figures, FNAF novels, FNAF movies, FNAF T-Shirts, FNAF coloring books, FNAF Dogtags.
FNAF THE FLAMETHROWER!!!! Which ironically some people would desperately want when playing these games.
I can honestly respect FNAF and Scott for not just how this franchise was created but how the man sets an example for developers. Mostly regarding the FNAF World fiasco, for those unaware between FNAF 4 and Sister Location Scott released a FNAF RPG which was buggy, not properly explained and was generally not well received so Scott decided to offer refunds for everyone who purchased the game from Steam and FNAF world is currently free to download. From what I've seen not only is it Scott dropping hints for FNAF Sister Location but it's just kind of a chance for Scott to take the piss out of himself like Stephen King's movie Maximum Overdrive.
I mean he created a Star Fox parody where Freddy and his pals go into space to fight a crazed version of himself for the Emperor's sake, how can you not appreciate that?
Now to be honest FNAF World just might be the only one of these games I can see myself getting through but other then that NOPE! Now again It's not that I hate these games or believe that the hype is overblown but just that I do not like jump scares; and when I have to deal with these mechanical demons coupled with the jump scares and loud noises they might cause me to have a heart attack or hurt my hearing when I have to keep the volume up to hear them out; something I would like to avoid as much as possible. One of the things I do like about these games is the lore and the history of the Animatronics, the Purple Guy and all the horrible events tied around this fictional Pizza franchise. Now some people say that it's overly complicated and Scott just keeps adding more nonsense on top of more nonsense, to some extent I may agree but then again I can follow the mythos of Bioshock and Kingdom Hearts so make of that what you will. At least this isn't nearly as complicated as the Tommy Westphall universe and it's all encompassing Lovecraftian tendrils.

Now to give my thoughts on less controversial material just general aesthetic choices. I personally like the designs of the Animatronics themselves, my personal favorite iteration was in FNAF 4 where they honestly looked like Demons. Scott just really cut loose with that game and as someone who likes making monsters myself I can tell they're just inspired. My personal favorite Animatronic is Golden Freddy, the nearly unavoidable instant kill Zordon from furry yiffing hell, with the empty eye sockets, lifelessness, and just all around uncomfortable feeling you get trying to avoid that hellbeast is just wonderful. The only thing about this franchise that I don't really get behind is the fan art, specifically the furry stuff, now I know that that scene isn't for me but it's just one of those things that make me shake my head and say "for god's sake Internet".

As for Scott himself seeing him get so much success out of such a simple concept is commendable, especially coming from me who has little to no skills in programing video games. To see a man take what he can do and slowly but surly improve his craft and be so successful is nothing short of inspiring. I believe the real story of FNAF is learning from your failures, turning them into your inspiration and through luck become a rightful success in a field where one faced great adversity. So Scott, good on you and nothing but luck for you, your family, your franchise and your future endeavors.

Now again that's just my opinion if you like that stuff good for you it's just not my cup of tea. Though personally what I really would like to see is possibly crossovers. Like a witch from Madoka Magica themed around the Puppet with the animatronics as its familiars or something. Also since the current Kamen Rider series Ex-Aid has their monsters, the Bugsters themed around Video Games I'd love to see one themed around FNAF. Again that's all just me and if you feel differently by all means let me know. Now to get back to work on my new Let's Plays to keep my stress down during the winter since my current money earning job does take its toll on me.

Manga Review: Kazumi Magica The Innocent Malice Volume 1 Part 1: For the girl who got everything she wanted. (Spoilers)

Please be sure to read, comment, spread the links, re-tweet and follow me on Twitter @OnDavidsBrain! and support me on Patreon.

In Memory of Jerome Silberman AKA Gene Wilder
(6/11/1933-8/29/2016)
Oh this story, this was actually my first Madoka spin off that I read after watching the main series. Mostly because I heard about it from Jesuotaku's review of the show (which happened to be the last video review JO did, not a bad series to end with in my opinion.) Since this is my first spin off I have a bit of bias towards this but I will be fair and give this the critical attention it deserves but like before I warn you about spoilers so read the manga then come back.

We'll start with our cover and BY THE EMPEROR'S CENTURIBEAR WHAT IS UP WITH HER SPINE!? I've heard of hourglass figures before but this is just nightmare fuel! For god's sake kid eat a burger!!!
We open on a scene that I can't and won't show, specifically a girl curled in the darkness hearing about money and something going boom. She screams to get out and bursts out of a suitcase; naked.
Did somebody say NAKED?
KILL YOURSELF!!! Now I could have made an Outlaw Star or Firefly reference but I chose not to so there. So our little nudist sees a guy holding a cell phone and figures he was the one who stuffed her in the suitcase and attacks him. But she notices that she's nude and her stomach rumbles. After she gets some clothes the guy explains that he's not a perverted abductor, he's just a guy that wanted a bomb to blow up a mall.

But she's less concerned with the the fact that she's sharing the room with a member of ISIS but is more focused of whether the food she was given was poisoned or not. Um kid I think some of your priorities are just a tad askew (Side note type askew onto Google it's funny, though not if you suffer from vertigo.) After the psychopathic glutton finishes literally licking her plate clean she comes to a realization, she has amnesia! The only thing she does remember is her name, Kazumi. The dudes phone rings again and the caller says that they have their bomb and that if the two don't meet at the mall to exchange the cases then she'll bring the bomb to the cops. Kazumi figures that the other person was the one who kidnapped her and is the best clue to finding her memories.

So at the mall the exchange is made with Kazumi complementing the guys stroganoff and that she hopes he won't use the bomb so she can have it again. Suddenly two middle school girls show up and inquire about the switching of the suitcases.
Their plot relevancy ratings just skyrocketed!!! This must mean something!
The duo then open the suitcase and the guy accidentally activates the time bomb. Suddenly a detective and SWAT team arrive and confront the man named Souichiro Tachibana. The detective is about to shoot Tachibana when Kazumi busts out of the suitcase and defends him with evidence so solid that not even Jack McCoy, Matt Murdock, She-Hulk and Phoenix Wright could refute it!
IRON CLAD; CASE CLOSED BABY!!!
Nevertheless the time bomb is about to blow when Kazumi's earrings start to ring, causing something to happen to the bomb when Umika and Kaoru manage to send the bomb into the sky which just releases a bunch of confetti and harmless fireworks. With the crisis over Kazumi accuses the detective of planting the bomb on Tachibana; she tries to change the subject by insisting on getting Kazumi to a hospital since she admitted she has amnesia but Umika and Kaoru intervene and shows her a picture the three took together to prove that they're her friends. Apparently she's been missing since yesterday and the two are surprised that Kazumi lost her memory, so they show her to their home. The three live together in a large house since their parents work overseas and their house itself is paid for by Umika who's a best selling author, while Kaoru is an aspiring soccer star. Kazumi then manages to find her room and after the excitement of the day she just crashes and falls asleep.

Stop being so cute this instant or you'll give everyone diabetes from the pure sugar radiating off of you!
Later that night she wakes up and finds a note left behind by Umika and Kaoru telling her that the detective from earlier invited them out for dinner. Speaking of food she feels a rumbly in her tummy and hits the kitchen to whip up her dinner. She's just about to tuck into her tasty home cooked dinner when the detective rings the doorbell. She says that she missed the two but Kazumi is still suspicious of her. Despite Kazumi's ditzy cutesy personality she's not an idiot.

She points out that the detective seemed to arrive on the scene a little too quickly, was quite quick on pulling her gun on Tachibana and why would she show up to their place after she went through the trouble to call out Umika and Kaoru and just show up at their place when only Kazumi is there? But it looks like she lost more then just her appetite, RUN! The phone rings but the detective knocked it off the hook alerting Umika and Kaoru. The detective explains that someone tipped her off about Tachibana and the bomb. She also said that she also received power from this person and begins to transform.
She was converted into a Shocker Kaijin, RUN FOR IT KID!!!
As Kazumi is tossed around by the Mantis her bell earrings ring and she has flashbacks recalling other girls and her standing in a pool of blood and corpses. The Mantis is about to rip her ears off to get the bells, but Kazumi snaps, breaks the mantis' wrist and surprisingly also transforms; into a magical girl!
Badass intro but, yeah way to suck all the awesome out of your intro with a cute pink straw. Even the big bad beetle baddy is stunned by your reaction, and trust me she's not the only one kid.
Despite being dazed by Kazumi's bubble headed realization the mantis keeps attacking her. She tries to fire off a spell but of course since she rediscovered her powers only a few seconds ago it's not looking too good. However muscle memory kicks in and we end our first chapter with her defeating the mantis and telling Umika and Kaoru that like Trumpy she can do magic things.

Chapter 2 continues with Kazumi passing out, not to fatigue but hunger; cause the little silly billy never got dinner. The two shake their heads but Umika discovers something near the unconscious detective.
Whatever it is it can't be good.
The next morning Kazumi wakes up and notices that the hole in the wall caused by the fight last night was fixed like nothing happened. Undeterred she heads down stairs when she smells something yummy.
Look for her on the premiere of Hells Kitchen Jr!
Kaoru enters the picture and explains that Umika is just venting her writers block with cooking. However even this isn't enough to quiet the crazy in her head; as she starts doing free wording and starts to go into Sander Cohen territory.
I WANT TO TAKE THE EARS OFF! TAKE THEM OFF! PLEASE!
Since that didn't work it's time for plan B

I am not even kidding the next scene the trio are at the mall. After much fluff and Kazumi wondering if Umika and Kaoru only see her as the old Kazumi instead of the today Kazumi she gets a bad feeling, the same one she got from the detective. Following that feeling she gets attacked by girls with black sludge on their face. She manages to remove the sludge with her soul gem but is attacked by the monster producing the sludge. After a wardrobe malfunction Kazumi transforms and attacks the monster but gets smacked around, literally.

Kazumi tells Umika and Kaoru to run, but it turns out she's not the only magical girl in town as the two transform.
Not as cool as Kazumi's, but not bad.
The two manage to subdue the monster but as Kazumi remembers their fighting tactics she jumps the gun and fires a spell at the wrong time nearly hitting Kaoru and letting the monster get away. Kaoru tells her not to sweat it since she doesn't expect Kazumi to be acting like her old self right away, but she just feels that all she is just a substitute for the old Kazumi. She apologizes for nearly hitting Kaoru so her and Umika agree that her punishment should be, to get some refreshment by way of Umika and Kaoru giving her a haircut, Kay?

As they give Kazumi her haircut they give her the rundown of Magical Girls, their duties and the wish, Umika and Kaoru's for instance was to meet an editor who would respect her work and to have a body strong enough to be a top class soccer player respectively. Kazumi points out that they could have just wished to win the World Cup and become a best selling author, but they say that they wanted to achieve their goals through their own efforts. Kazumi then asks what her wish was but they say she never told them, they then bring up witches and explain that the Mantis and sludge monsters were witches they've never seen before. So with the exposition over we see Kazumi's new hairdo.
Congratulations your cuteness levels are over 9000!!!
She still has her little spiral hair strand which she says is sort of a witch detector, which goes off when her spider sense goes off again. The trio try to figure out the witches MO but are coming up with nothing. So Kazumi decides they need more fuel so they have a quick snack; and surprisingly it works with Umika noticing that all the victims were young girls using a specific brand of makeup.
Really? Because honestly I thought the witch was just emo judging by her dialogue.
But sure enough there's a woman who's about to attack the crowd. The trio manage to intercede before she can make her move but also discover who the woman's sponsor is.
A magical girl creating artificial witches? The plot thickens.
The magical girl runs off leaving the trio to deal with her fake witch. Despite some hesitation on Kazumi's part on what the old her would do the trio manage to defeat the cosmetics witch and get a similar object dropped by the Mantis witch. We end this chapter with the group discussing how everyone has the potential to become witches even with the best of intentions, but then decide to get some dinner; all in all a nice shopping day wouldn't you say? There's still some of volume one to cover but before I do I'll give you a warning.

Tokusatsu Review: Chōjin Sentai Jetman Part 1: Happy 25th Birthday!!! (to me!)

Please be sure to read, comment, spread the links, re-tweet and follow me on Twitter @OnDavidsBrain! and support me on Patreon.

25 years ago today Toei released the first episode of the final Super Sentai before the franchise was regularly adapted into Power Rangers, Chōjin Sentai Jetman.  I've heard all the praise; I've seen several reviews and yet with anything the best way to judge something is to see it for yourself. Though before I even get started on this show I have a promise to keep and get some things off my chest by talking about the man responsible for the writing for this series.

The man I (and many others) consider to be the Japanese Frank Miller who has about as much reused cliches and tropes as Stephen King.
I've mentioned this before but Inoue and Franky boy have more then a few similarities with each other. First off they were good writers when they started but have been on a downward spiral since. Though Inoue's decline has been far slower then Franks. While in recent years Inoue could at least make something enjoyable (I personally liked Kiva) everything Frank touches turns to complete and utter crap these days. They both are sexiest but on completely opposite ends of the spectrum, in Franks world every woman over the age of 18 is a whore, by that I mean every female character that's over 18 he writes; sex is in someway a part of their characterization or are drawn/depicted in ways involving sex.

Examples include Catwoman in Batman Year One, where she was a Dominatrix inspired by Batman (Aka Crazy Steve), Bruno in The Dark Knight Returns is a Neo Nazi who walks around topless and wears swastikas as nipple pasties; and last but not least every female character in the movie adaptation of The Spirit that he directed. In Inoue town if you have a vagina then 9 times out of 10 you're either a horrible person, an idiot, or an abuse victim that wandered off the set of a Lifetime channel original movie. They also have their problems when it comes to restraint in their works but in different areas, see Inoue's problem is when he works on Kamen Rider or something that is targeted to generally older audiences he tends to indulge in creating asshole characters and have a more depressing and anger inducing tone for his shows. The worst examples of this from what I've seen is in Kamen Rider Agito and Kamen Rider Faiz, in Agito everyone is a raging Asshole that would fit right at home in one of those trashy housewives shows, where as in Faiz it's not as bad but for that show he went for quality over quantity and created the undeniably worst character in the history of the franchise to this day.
Ten years after he died and I would still rather teach Shakespeare to a pissed off mountain gorilla then deal with this guy.
But when Inoue is writing Sentai or something that could be targeted for kids he tends to hold back due to the target audience. In Franks case his restraint problems comes down to his politics, his stories tend to reflect his political views which were faaaar more restrained when he started out, however since 9/11 (which he was in New Your City during the events of that day) his politics have been creeping in more and more eventually culminating into a 120 page Donald Trump campaign speech which he decided to call "Holy Terror". Also the two are recently getting back into the spotlight around the same time, Inoue is going to be cowriting the 45th anniversary Kamen Rider Movie and Miller is working on a Third Dark Knight book.

But all in all I'd take Inoue over Miller any day mostly because Inoue can still make something good once in a while, knows when to hold himself back and isn't a racist, fascist piece of garbage. But enough about that; time to talk about the show itself and to make with the funny already. Our show starts off in the year 199X (aka 1991 for those who looked on Wikipedia) where we see an orbital space station that's owned by the military organization Skyforce whose job is to oversee the earth for any disturbances to peace. They detect that a robot has gone nuts and is attacking a civilian area.

But instead of sending down X or Zero to stop it they instead send down two of their agents to deal with the Maverick. They stop the bot and their commanding officer comes into the monitor room and asks for their names which are Ryu Tendo and Rie Aio. She then says that she wants them for the J Project. Later when Rie asks what the J Project is exactly the commanding officer says that those who are treated with "Birdonic Waves" that Skyforce has created would get superpowers; which would somehow lead to helping maintain world peace. Because that's what the world needs, to live in fear of five super powered weirdos dressed in bird themed spandex.

Ryu is concerned however that if the two are brought in on this project that they'd be assigned to different units, the commander however assures them that the Jetmen are a five man team and that they're in no danger of being separated. We then cut to the fortress of our villains.
Which looks like a hellish red eye in the bottom of the ocean.
Back at the satellite we see Ryu being the first to get his DNA scrambled with to become a Jetman. I'm guessing this must have been what inspired Hartford to give the Overdrive Rangers their powers. After Ryu has an acid trip and gains a savory cherry flavor the base is attacked by the Vyrock and incoming message from the big giant head!
Kneel before Zod!
No this is actually Count Radiguet one of the members of the Dimensional War Party Vyram and he proclaims that they're here take over the world and shit on your couch because they're big blue motherfuckers and that's how they roll!
And apparently they're in league with Saruman!
Though the fact that he's apparently broadcasting to the whole world with his declaration of conquest does raise the question of whether he knows that Earth has more then one language? I mean he's clearly speaking Japanese so does he think that's what the dominant language is for Earth despite the vast and different cultures and environments that humanity has created/adapted too? I joked about Zod before but even in Man of Steel when Zod was sending his demands to the world they were translated to each countries' primary language. I mean if aliens are going to try and conquer us the least they could do is scout ahead and see our various methods of communication. Wow Jetman not even one episode in and your villains are showing less knowledge of us then the Psychlos from Battlefield Earth and one of them thought that humans can fly!

So to prove that he's not fucking around Radiguet says that the first target is the Skyforce space base. The staff evacuates but Rie gets sucked out through a hull breach and is sucked into space despite Ryu's attempt to save her, the CO gut checks Ryu and knocks him out due him becoming hysteric and takes him to a ship to escape the facility. Meanwhile the device that infused Ryu with the Birdonic Waves shatters and the remaining four waves then scatter across Japan and infuse four random people with a lemon, coconut, black licorice and blueberry flavor respectively. After laughing his ass off Radiguet then sends down a monster to attack the city.

The CO and Ryu land at their base, the Sky Camp and when Ryu wakes up screaming that he has to look for Rie. The CO cuts the crap and tells him that she's dead, Vyram killed her get used to it. Ryu is of course emotionally unstable and asks her how the hell he's supposed to fight something that can destroy the Earthbase in one shot. She tells them that he's already a Jetman and that they have to find his teammates. Um Ma'am maybe you should go and look for them while Ryu recovers, grieves and starts to accept Rie's death at his own pace? I mean I know that Vyram is right on your doorstep and what not but you do want humanity's defenders to be in a right, sane state of mind right? You don't want him to die in battle due to him having a grief stricken psychotic episode? No, ok then, there just goes me and my logic again.

In the city we see the monster that Radiguet sent out.
The Dimensional Bug.
It starts its spree by eating people to fill its egg sack! Yep first monster and it's eating people whole and leaving only their clothes behind.

While Proto-Cell gorges; the CO and Ryu make their first stop to a mansion to meet the young lady of the manor; Kaori who at first is confused by all of this. Making things worse is Ryu basically barking at her telling her to become a warrior since Rie, oh I'm sorry the "world" is at stake. I'll get into this later when I talk about the characters but suffice to say Ryu is basically stuck like this for the rest of the show. The CO tells Ryu to back off and she explains things in a much more calm manner to Kaori. She then agrees to join if only because her inner Disney princess is acting up and she wanted out of her boring, stagnant lifestyle. Our heroes everyone Japanese Roy Harper and a lady who treats saving the world like a vacation.

Hero #3 Raita is just as bad as he's a farmer who even when he's told that the world is in danger of being destroyed by the Vyram he just still tells them that he's a pacifist and to fuck off. Kaori offers to stay and convince him while Ryu and the CO go find the last two. She manages to butter him up by playing on his pride in how much care he gives his vegetables. What seals the deal is when Radiguet sends down his foot solders to destroy Raita's crops.
Meet 1991's foot solder model the Grinams.
After Raita demonstrates that he graduated from the Philionel El Di Saillune school of pacifism the two get overwhelmed by the Grinams and call for help from Ryu, who heads back to the Skycamp and deploys in his personal mech the Jet Hawk to back the two newbies up. I could go on about how many ways from Sunday him flying the mech in the city low enough to go between buildings is ungodly stupid, dangerous and illegal but need less to say it still paints our Red as an asshole.

Porto-Cell corners Raita and Kaori in a nearby rock quarry (because in Sentai there's always a nearby rock quarry) but Ryu swoops in from his mech and finally transforms into Red Hawk, cleans house with the grunts and tosses Raita his Cross-changer. But before he can show them how to transform Proto-Cell tries to drink him.
YOU WANNA SEE ME DRINK THIS GUY?!
Raita and Kaori fall off a cliff and almost die but they manage to transform just in time and fly back up. Though some members can clearly handle themselves better then others they do manage to survive their first fight and force Proto-Cell to retreat. The CO stresses that they need to find the last two Jetman or else Vyram is going to walk all over them. Back on the Vyrock we see Radiguet asking his two comrades who the hell the Jetman are. So we end the first episode by seeing the other three leading members of Vyram.
First is their robot Hitman Grey, who's basically a badass, cultured version of Bender.
The technological wunderkind Tran who looks like he took lipstick application tips from Bruce Payne from the Dungeons and Dragons movie.
And there's the token woman Maria.
Who we have never seen before!
We start the second episode in the second paragraph of Journey's "Don't stop believing" where we see The Fonz' long lost cousin cheating at poker but gives his winnings and his own chips to his female opponent to charm his way into her pants. As he's walking out with her the club bouncer of course notices his cheating and is about to beat his ass like a drum when Fonzie knocks him out with one punch like he was Popeye after finishing a Spanakopita. He's completely shocked by this sudden burst of strength and runs off.

Meanwhile the three Jetmen are searching for the last two, Ryu searching from the sky in his Jet Hawk while Raita and Kaori search by car. We cut to a high school where a girl is apparently summoning the evil from Evil Dead, but she snaps out of it and decides to jump the high jump and aces it. This is Ako Hayasaka and the gym teacher is so impressed that he asks her to participate in the school sports competition. Of course since she has a brain in her head she'll gladly do it, for 2000 yen.
Both parties manage to find Birdonic Waves, while on the Vyrock Proto-Cell has started to lay eggs. Radiguet picks one up which hatches into a large Spider called a Dimension Insect, he then teleports the Insect to the jet that the CO was flying which transforms into a monster.
However this brings up another problem with Vyram for me. So if I've got this right the Bug Mother is the only creature that can spawn these Dimension Insects. So...why did you send this thing into combat against the Jetmen?! You have no freaking clue what their capabilities are, what weapons they have and if your Bug is strong enough to even kill them. These Insects are going to be the source of the M.O.W so if I were the one running the show I would make keeping the Bug Mother alive one of my top priorities, along with regular abductions to keep feeding her thus giving me more Insects and thus more Monsters.

Let's take this a step further here, first I'd send out a Dimensional Beast to keep the Jetmen busy while I have another group working on kidnapping thousands of people to feed the Bug Mother, for every 1 I lose I'll gain about 20. Then once I have enough I'll release them all on mass all over the world and then BAM total conquest! You know for someone who claims to be the new gods of earth and who have apparently conquered other worlds before this you'd think that they would at least come up with a strategy so simple!? But then again this is the same guy that thinks the leader of the world should look like if the Phantom of the Opera joined the blue man group wearing a spiked cornucopia on his head so there you go.
Ok, rant over, the CO manages to eject from Fighter Dimension before it starts to attack Ryu. Meanwhile Raita and Kaori manage to find Ako while Fonzie is turning up his coolness factor by playing the saxophone but trips out and accidentally crushes his sax like it was tinfoil; but Ryu and the CO manage to get to him. Back with Vyram Radiguet once again shows how SMRT he is by telling Proto-Cell to go on a rampage after it detaches its egg sack. Back with Fonzie after the CO tells him that he's a Jetman and that she wants him to use that power to protect the earth he gives a few reasons why humanity sucks, they're racist, stupid, self-destructive, pollute and from his view are just a cut string away from being whipped out by their own arrogance. This of course pisses off Ryu who gives his "value of life" crap but of course when dealing with a guy like this is the exact wrong way of going about recruiting him.

Fonzie of course sees through Ryu's crap and tells him to piss off. But of course after Ryu keeps spewing his bull about saving the earth Fonz just head butts him right in the face and walks off.
And I just love the look on his face as he head butts him. This is the face of a man who does not give even a microscopic amount of a fuck.
Which leads to our calm, cool and collected Red Ranger grabbing him and punching him right in the jaw, um Ryu what was it you said earlier about putting personal matters aside? I'll get into more of this later but for now lets run down this scenario. Somebody doesn't do what you want which they have no clear interest in helping you with. So what do you do? You punch them in the face; up yours Ryu. Yet I still prefer you over Right from Toqger or Takaharu from Ninninger, and that's just sad.

As for the CO, she does absolutely nothing about stoping this, she just sighs and shakes her head, our Mentor everyone! I mean I know nothing about military code of conduct but let me see here, an officer under your command is assaulting a civilian who you are giving top priority to recruit and yet you're doing absolutely nothing to stop him. Now I may not know but I think a President, General and a Colonel can give you a suggestion.

We cut from this episode of Japan's funniest drafts to Kaori and Raita trying to persuade Ako to join. As demonstrated before she can be bought off for the right price and lucky-lucky that the rich girl is here so she cuts off a 10 Million Yen check!!! Which back then would equal about 76.881.600 american dollars which today with inflation would reach about 89.135.900 American dollars!!! Now I might be wrong since math is not my forte but suffice to say Ako is undoubtably thinking one thing right now.

So Ako is now a Jetman and just in time as Proto-Cell begins attacking the three. They call in Ryu for back up with Fonzie chasing after the two since he's not through with him yet. Ryu takes the Jet Hawk to the three but is intercepted by Fighter Dimension who engages him in a dogfight so ridiculous that even Maverick from Top Gun is telling him he's out of his mind. Meanwhile Gai (that's his name Gai Yuki the only reason I haven't said it is because the show hasn't yet, yeah the second episode and only Ryu and Ako had had their names spoken aloud) has lost Ryu but gets abducted by Fighter Dimension probably due to them both giving off Birdonic waves. Of course since Gai is a hostage Ryu can't shoot the monster down but he does manage to shoot the arms forcing the monster to let Gai go and crash.

Ryu manages to give Gai his Cross Changer and they both transform saving themselves by flying down to safety. Raita, Kaori and Ako transform too and meet with the others, at last the team has been gathered, but Fighter Dimension isn't done yet and assumes a humanoid form.
Apparently on top of working for Vyram it was also a Decepticon.
So the team engages the enemy forces with the team doing rather well Ryu even manages to destroy Fighter Dimension by shooting a fuel leak on the monsters body. However Proto-Cell is still hungry but is quickly dealt with. The four Vyram leaders then decide to start a game, the first one to kill the Jetmen will be the true leader of the group.

So we wrap up with Ako giving Kaori back the check saying that she'll join them for free.
As for Gai, he gives his own response to Ryu's offer to join the team with a way that's just as fresh as he is.

Yeah the only reason he helped in the first place was to get revenge on the monsters that attacked him and now that they're gone he has no reason to stick around with an asshole he can't stand the sight of let alone listen too. So he tosses them his Cross Changer and drives off. So those were the first two episodes of Jetman, tune in next time where I give my thoughts of the season over all, the heroes, the mechs, the villains and anything else that deserves mention. Also Happy 25th Birthday Jetman and me!
